Im back from my 3 year hiatus from reading comic books. I missed the New Avengers launch, should I pick up the first few volumes in TPBs? Are they worth it?
And whats with all these Wolverine titles? From what I understand, Daken will take over the ongoing Wolvie title? What about Logan what does he get?
If you’re gonna read New Avengers I would recommend reading all the TPBs, but not the Secret Invasion ones (this is my personal opinion though).
As for the overlfux of Wolverine comics, don’t let it bother you; if you want good Wolverine stories featuring Logan in all his badass glory, read just about all the TPBs of his current series (EXCEPT Evolution TPB which is pretty bad).
Other than that…the new Weapon X series is very good, and is action packed.
So if you like action packed comics get Weapon X. If you’re not comfortable with single issues, there’s nothing wrong in waiting for THE TRADE BABY!:nunchuck:
Also Daken will star in an upcoming title called Dark Wolverine I think.
Anyone picking up X-Men Forever #1 this week?
I read some of it, the first few pages in the X-Men Forever Alpha book and I just didn’t care for it.
Is that what’s going on in MA now? I haven’t picked it up post SI, but if it’s like THAT I’ll give it a look see.
Its been the most “Avengers”-feeling book since Slott came on(although I didn’t that Scarlet Witch focus issue).

Slott’s run is simply going back to being a Superhero comic in a similar vein to classic Avengers stories.
@c-flame- Yup, but for DeadPool you gotta go into it knowing that with a different writer, the character of DP will be written with a few alterations.
So far the current DP series is hit and miss with me, but when it ‘hits’ it’s rather enjoyable. If you haven’t collected Cable and DeadPool, then that’s a good starting point.
Current X-Force is top notch BTW, and I really like the art and action.
Aguirre-Sacasa talks about Marvel Divas and like Apathy said before, the book is not what people were expecting / bitching about. Looking forward to it! :tup:

I still think the Hood is a lame villian.
Yeah Spidey had me rolling when he was talking to Luke Cage on the Quinjet. He said something like, “Relax I’m not interested in your wife, but Iron Fist is free right?” :lol: New and Dark Avengers have me cracking up lately. 
Marvel marketing was pretty ingenious on that front.
That book probably would have flown under a lot of radars if people hadn’t gotten so outraged.
God damn, that Bucky Cap is terribly written. Yes, he carries guns. That doesn’t mean he goes around shooting people in the face all the damn time like the Punisher.

Have you read The Hood mini that first introduced him? It’s pretty good.
Also Hood is the villain in the new Punisher series which is pretty good.
The Hood is the absolute lamest “major” villain of all time.
He wears a hood. And is thus called The Hood.
