[/LIST]Its not that i dont agree with who they listed after reading some details but, why isnt Rogue considered omega…or Scarlet?? I guess my co-worker was right when he said Scarlet wasnt omega. I concede
Because Bendis took Scarlet Witches powers, made them retarded, and set into motion his plan to ruin the Marvel Universe.
Rogue can’t control multiple energy sources/matter and doesn’t have massive psychic powers.
Damn you serious?? I wanna get back into marvel…but its too fuckin hard. They have all these alt universes and different titles i dont know where to pick it back up from. Plus i cant find it online like i do with manga lol.
Scarlet Witch can be considered Omega level around House of M, I dunno what she is now, she just came back
.
Rogue was, when she was in X-Treme X-Men and could access any power she’d ever absorbed at will, but they basically reset her back to her original levels and took away her Ms. Marvel powers.
Alternate universes? Are you sure you’re not thinking of DC?
Marvel is pretty straight forward.
There’s the regular “616” line and the Ultimate line.
Really it doesn’t matter, though, just read whatever you want.
Amazing Spider-Man is pretty much in it’s own world right now.
I recommend Ultimate Spider-Man and X-Force.
Lots of people here will recommend Deadpool, Captain America, Iron Fist and Daredevil.
Buy the main House of M trades to get started, then buy the New Avengers trades, Civil War, WWH, Avengers The Initiative, and the Thunderbolts trade from after Civil War. AND the Captain America trades.
Those will for the most part bring you up to speed.
To me it really isn’t hard to get back into Marvel. DC is another story since I just now am getting into recently cause of the Milestone characters.
Quentin Quire and Jean Grey (phoenix) were the first 2 listed “omegas”. From there I have no idea what they were planning. I didn’t know about iceman. Gambit USED to be on there.
Where’s Sano? He’d have something to say here…
I-Mockery’s Civil War article in the comic section sums up Civil War very well. I would link to it, but I cant link to it from work.
I just got all the House of M reading them while at work…yea i love my job. Trying to get back into the marvel universe, I just keep forgetting that it reads left to right tho. LOL to much manga reading i guess.
Quentin Quagmire was not one of the first. The first two Omega mutants revealed by Marvel were Jean Grey and Iceman.
Are you positive? Rogue never possessed the evolutionary capability required to be classified as an omega level, and I don’t remember her being referred to as one, but I could be wrong.
Also, Mr. Immortal isn’t Omega level, he’s beyond. He’s not homo superior, he’s homo supreme. avoiding the obvious puns
Storm is Alpha with Omega potential. She’s not classified as Omega. The same goes for Magneto and Professor X. Also, anyone who can alter reality on a large scale is generally considered Omega.
Jean and Iceman Where always hinted as being Omega level. I think they were the 1st two to get the title of omega however. Emma showed some of the potential of icemans powers and he is only now being shown as starting to kinda tap into that.
I recall storm, magneto and Charles also being on that list.
nathan too
Gambit was never omega…
Cable is and Gambit “was.” One of the things necessary for Omega mutants to be classified as Omega is the potential to evolve into a state where they are merged with their powers. New Son Gambit (Gambit at full power from an alternate universe) could turn his entire body into kinetic energy. Gambit was able to fight at new Son’s level until he burned them out. I’m pretty sure that Storm, Magneto, and Xavier were never confirmed Omega’s in 616.
I think the subject is more or less covered lol!
But yeah Gambit is up there kinda or has the potential to be. ‘New Son Gambit’ AKA Gambit at his full potential was insanely powerful.
Keep up, slow poke.
We posted like seconds away from each other. Still using TIMESTOP man no fair.
Elixir, Mercury, Dust and Landslide should all omega level mutants from jump with those classification. Elixir is crazy overpowered. Dust is another mad powerful mutant.
edit: once they “power up” those would be the contenders for new age omega mutants.
edit2: How would darwin classify? Dude is crazy broken as well.
Darwin is Omega.
I am pretty sure part of the ‘omega’ classification is hard to put a stamp on right now. When I was first introduced to the concept years back, part of it was based around your powers essentially being able to make you immortal and operate on a wide spectrum to effect any and all objects. But since Quentin Quire got the label and they used it in the X-Men 3 movie, its all so hazy.
New Sun Gambit, like Magneto, Storm, fully powered Cable and various other insanely strong mutants are probably Alphas. But if you can be burned out physically from using your powers, I don’t think you can call that Omega.
Also Marvel brings 2099 back in 2009. BRian Reed on Timestorm
Actually, Cable isn’t Omega anymore, either, unless I missed something in the past year or so. He lost his powers in Cable/Deadpool.
I like Reed but I don’t want anyone touching Spider-Man 2099 that is not Peter David. See what happened to the character in Exiles (even though that wasn’t the same exact character as the 2099 one, slightly different realities).
And why the hell is he making Spider-Man 2099 younger? Marvel really has a problem with letting any Spider-Man age. :bluu:
Aside from Elixir how are those guys Omega level?
