Holy crap please give me a movie about Static or Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle.
I can’t really think of female superheroes I don’t think work better within a team. Various X-Men and stuff. Other than Wonder Woman but that shit is long overdue.
without dwyane mcduffie or a powerful black hollywood figure…we will never see a static movie. Or if we do…it will nowhere be close to the og comic, probably wont even come close to the watered down wb show.

It could be so good though. Like Spidey’s my favorite superhero(though Static and Blue Beetle are up there) and I think their movies could be at least as good as any of his. Static was based heavily on that sort of relatable person handling responsibility Spidey was and it landed. Static is EXACTLY the type of hero they should bring up if ethnic diversity is something they want to bring to superhero universes. He’s nerdy yet cool, fun loving but able to shoulder the weight of the world. I’m sure they’d get plenty of acclaim just by having Rick there as long as they don’t make him a joke of his sexuality. Go ahead and make him Gear even.
Also I liked the cartoon. If it’s even as good as that but slightly more adult I’d be happy. It was pretty freak of the week, let’s not go too crazy on story arcs and have way too many stupid guest stars…y but for what it was it was pretty alright. All things a movie would fix anyway.
This is what gets me. So many idiots are defending the swapping claiming anyone who’s against it are obvious racist and sexist. In truth they fail to realize how patronizing and a move like this really is. Imagine if chun-li was just a 2nd player swap for ryu as opposed to her own character with her identity and look. Stealing another characters success seems counter productive to empowerment IMO.
How hard was it to get that joke, maybe it had some hidden height requirement that you didn’t meet…
