BET Networks and Marvel Animation have hired Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond) to voice to the title character in the cable network’s upcoming animated series, “The Black Panther.”

The series will be adapted from six issues of the Marvel comic of the same name, which were written in 2005 by director, producer (The Boondocks, House Party) and former BET president Reginald Hudlin.

“It’s a blessing for African Americans and minorities to have a superhero they can identify with,” said Hounsou of the character, which was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, debuted in 1966 in a Fantastic Four comic and later headlined his own volumes beginning in 1973.

Oh good lord. I thought this had faded away! They’re still carrying through with it!?

Well if you had the Incredible Hulk DVD it kind of announces that the series is coming out.

Wasn’t able to get the Hulk DVD. :frowning: Had to dump my spare cash into a new gi for judo. My old one ripped. It’s what I get for being a showoff.

Okay why are they listing Reggie Hudlin as a producer on Boondocks? Him and McGruder had a falling out early on, his name only stayed on the show for legal reasons. On top of that, there’s a banned episode that disses the crap out of Hudlin. Strange strange PR machines…

lol incoming animated atrocity with a budget of 5 bucks judging by that flash quality.

Because that fool hasn’t done anything good besides the small hand he had in Boondocks and his role with the Bernie Mack Show. They say this is going to based off issues of series, if it the first six issues of Hudlin’s run, it will probably damage Black Panther’s shot at a movie nearly as bad as the MAX series with Nick Fury banging hookers and getting high.

Hey, now, there’s no need to disparage the Fury MAX miniseries. That was The Boys before there was The Boys.
