yeah it is pretty clear whenever anyone bashes hudlin is because they like Priest more so you arent the only one. Dayum near half of the BP fans if not all of them is on that bandwagon. I have a few of priests run and i hope to get the rest soon. When I initially purchased BP prior to hudlin, i had no idea it was ending at the time.

LOL I love Boondocks so I refuse to watch BET. Still kind of mad BET banned the last two episodes of Boondocks this season. That just made every harmful thing Boondocks said about BET seem all the more real.

Hey, it’s just a fact that Priest’s run IS the Black Panther. He set the bar too high for any subsequent solo Black Panther series. Even though Hudlin started off with JRjr, it was a lost cause because there was no way he could match that level of quality. A Black Panther comic should reflect its protagonist and be more layered and and a dense read. And Priest’s work really demanded the reader to keep up, and it seems like Hudlin doesn’t really respect his readers’ intelligence.
If they wanna make a good cartoon, they should go hold Bruce Timm’s family hostage and force him to make it.

Sad thing is, Hudlin actually prides himself on his part in Black Panther, as horrid as it is. You don’t need to have graduated from Harvard to see that Priest flash kicked the standard sky high in terms of quality written material. To be honest, I think a return on his end is the only thing that could possibly save BP at this point.

EDIT: Actually agree with Lamewadd(pigs must be flying) on animating Red, White, and Black. That could probably persuade me to tune into BET’s garbage for 30 mins or however long an episode is. Only other show I could stomach watching was American Gangster, and that was partially due to Ving Rhames narrarating it.

So, a show is automatically bad and racist based on the network of which it airs? Brilliant logic guys. I’m glad you guys went to the future, saw this series and saved me the trouble of having to watch it.
Booker, it’s not like we’re saying this out of our asses, If the show is successful, by all means. But just because something is successful, doesn’t mean it portrays something good. Some rap videos kids listen to are HUGE successes, but talking about breaking into your neighbors house and killing everyone in there to rob them is NOT good. As well as the idiotic “parents” who let the kids listen to and recite this bullshit Studo Gangster spew out on a regular basis. BET is supposed to be Black Entertainment Television that portrays positve aspects, but Rap City, Gyrating Butts, and gangster movies are the furthest thing from it. Also look towards shows like College Hill, and Da Iron Wing(The Iron Ring) to see further instances of this.
But you kinda are talking out of your asses. I mean, some of you generalized an entire demographic (BET fans). What’s more, you did it without so much as a synopsis, snippet or anything of the series in question (Black Panther). Only a fool makes up his mind *before *hearing the issue.
And what’s funny is when BET airs something that actually shows promise (Hip Hop vs America) that speaks on actual interest topics, nobody watches. So tell me who’s to blame for BET’s current state? I’d say BET and it’s audience have an equal share I’d say.
If the show comes out, and sucks total ass, then by all means, run it into the ground. But don’t make baseless generalizations and claims about something you know almost nothing about.

I also did watch HH vs America. So that’s a baseless assumption as well, It would help to know that a lot of us who bash on BET HAVE watched it at some point, I know it’s capable of good, quality programming, which is why it frustrates me with all the garbage on the network.
I’m not referring to you in particular BEWD, I meant some of the other “less educated” posts. You for the most part seem to get the point in not generalizing.
And don’t feel the need to stop bashin BET on my part, they deserve it. I just didn’t quite agree with the “It’s on BET, so it sucks” logic is all.
