I’ve been getting into fighters recently, and MvC2 looks effin tight, and I was wondering: What would be the best way to play this? (Arcade? System?) Also, price is a huge issue.
I play Smash Bros. competitively, and I REALLY wanted to pick up some other fighting games to mix things up a bit.
I like SFII:Turbo HD Remix a lot, and I’m planning on getting SF4. But MvC2 looks so cool.
Thanks.
Arcade will be the best. But if u want to play it in console. Get it in dreamcast. Better than the ps2 or xbox and its way cheaper
Alright, tight. There is a Tilt in my area that’s selling some cabinets. And they have MvC2 there. I’ll see if my roommates are willing to get it, I know for sure one loves that game.
Thanks.
Kind of unrelated, but I found Marvel oddly similar to smash (in a good way). I think partially because of how fast everyone moves. Characters in 3s and ST feel like they’re freaking crawling to me TT. Also maybe because only like 1/10 of the cast is viable in each of them.
To actually answer your question, I second whatever was said above. I play on PS2 a lot myself because my roommate likes the pad and uses the button shortcuts. Even though it’s playable, there are a number of differences from the arcade version that will irritate you - most notably the speed change and lack of alpha counter invincibility on PS2.
omfg how does hypergrav xx tempest dhc ironman kill a fulll health magneto? wtf
Really? That’s cool. It also seems that MvC is in the air a lot, just like Smash.
Characters in mvc2 do have a lot more aerial control than other 2d fighters, but don’t take too much from that comment. Also we should end this comparison before someone swoops in with obligatory SRK “lol smash”.
Okay. Ha ha.
Yeah, there’s trouble a-brewing on some other topic.
Thanks for being open about it though, I really appreciate it.
dreamcast version is 30% faster than arcade. It’s a noticeable difference imo.
Not trying to correct you. Just throwing a little bit more info out there for people.
and yea, ST characters crawl compared to mvc2 characters. Can’t wait for mvc3 or something of the sort from capcom
who knows what % difference…
lol smash
I’ve unlocked all the colors but I can’t play with color A1. Why?
Do you have to unlock all the characters galleries as well?
Edit: Speaking of DC. Should you play the same damage level you play on PS2?
Yeah lets buy an expensive arcade cabinet when the Dreamcast version does just nicely.
What exactly is wrong with the PS2 version? I was hoping to get into Marvel but I’d prefer to not have to buy an old Dreamcast for one game. Would it be a bad idea to practice on PS2 version and just use a PS2 -> DC converter for tourneys, or is the difference too much?
whats the best way to dash
PP
kjhjkhtf filler
What is a wave dash and how do you do it?
Its a fast way of movement. its LP+HP+ direction of choice.
Wave Dashing is just a dash using LP+HP+Direction, but also you are able to cancel it by tapping Down. So you can continuously Wave Dash by, LP+HP xx down xx LP+HP xx down …
