Mario Kart may have 2000 players for all I care. If you open any business book you will read something like “Evo is f*cking its positioning up for the long term”. Maybe in 2008 they can take Marvel out and make it into an anime convention…
Any business book would say not to deal with fighting games to begin with… what’s your point?

Hi! I’ve signed up and I plan on winning the MKDS series 
All of you who think MKDS is broken haven’t explored the real depths of the game. It’ll be a lot of fun, I think. I’ve been waiting for something like this ever since MKDS came out. Good luck!
Two words:
PRB and SSMT
SSMT? More like MT. There won’t be many SSMTs except maybe on courses with long straight aways like Figure 8. But yes, the MT is very importat. Ultimately, whoever has the most skill with the MT will win. Skill with items is also good.
As for PRB, not really effective. Only one or two courses really make good use of it, and if you mess up once or don’t get a perfect start boost, it’s all over for the rest of the race.
i’m going to be waiting for the DS lite to play this game.
I would have expected super smash bros. melee before this.
That being said, I’m curious/excited to see how this is going to turn out.

Yeah, I’m not anywhere near the experts (Fried, Azen, etc). My goal is to get top 10 in Hyper Anniversary and MKDS. I’m a SF player.

Okay, I didn’t even bother reading the whining. Atleast we don’t have SvC Chaos on the line up.
But I REALLY wanted KoF XI on the lineup… So bad. It seems to be a more balanced fighter then alot of the others, but MKDS is still hella fun, I’d join in but I’ll save my red for CvS2, or slash.

I’m guessing that we’re going to get more than one shot at qualifying since qualifying last 12 hours, but if someone can just confirm that, that’d be nice.

I’ve been lurking around this board for some time, until this topic caught my eye. I used to play MKDS, and it has a competitive aspect to it. I was reading the rules at the Evolution website, and the players will not be racing head to head. Players will race in time trial, and the player(s) with the fastet times advance. The technique that makes Mario Kart competitive is called “Snaking.” In Mario Kart DS, you are able to do drift. Now, during the drift animation, you are able to press a button combination to preform a power slide. It is a drift, but it doesn’t slow you down, and you get a boost of speed at the end. Snaking, involves doing power slide left and right. Essentially, you’re constantly in a boosted state.
