Blue shell can help once your in 1st place. If someone passes you just hit them with it. Only noobs get with their own blue shell
Agreed. No reason to ever get hit with your own blue shell. I still like having a star or 3 red/green shells the best. Red or green doesn’t matter much to me since I’ve became very accurate with my green shells
on giant maps like bowsers castle you can shoot it right in front of you and it will turn around, go behind you then clobber you. to be safe you have to position yourself against the sides of the map and I call baloney on both of you guys never being hit by your own blue shell
on yoshi valley the final rope bridge is a good place to shoot green shells. if you aim it right it will rebound off the walls making it almost impossible to avoid
Instead of just tiering items, we should tier stages too. Hardest to easiest.

yes and if u know this you won’t use the blue shell. You use it when you know when to use it in 1st place
maybe I’m just a nub lazyjosh, but I still get hit by my own blue shell. I panic under pressure
easiest maps - moo moo farm would have to be the easiest and fairest map. wario stadium is another easy one with everyone just going for 6sec laps

Item tiers:
God tier: Lightning, Blue Shell, Star
Top Tier: Three Red Shells, Ghost, Gold Mushroom, Three Mushrooms
Mid Tier: Three Green Shells, One Red Shell, Fake Item
Bottom: Green Shell, Banana Trail, One Mushroom
Roll Tier: One Banana
All items are more/less useful depending on the stage, but this is where I think it stands.
I disagree with the sentiment that Blue shells aren’t top because they can backfire. All items can backfire. The idea is that these items would be used by the best players in the best possible situations.
All three God-tier items can take you from 8th to first immediately, especially on the final lap.
Top tier items can do that as well, but are best used in conjunction with other items.
Mid and Bottom tier items are typically for taking out that one guy in front of you who just won’t go away, but they’re best used for defense.
Banana trails are godlike in that when they’re used as a shield, they’re spread apart so people behind you have the possibility of getting tripped up. They’re sill not higher because your opponent can decelerate and nullify their effects.

God Tier: Lightning, Star
Top Tier: Blue Shell, 3 Red Shells, Ghost, Gold Mushroom
Mid Tier: 3 Green Shells, Red Shell, Green Shell, Banana Bunch
Bottom Tier: Banana Peel, Fake Item Box
The Wario Stadium thing is of course if you are not using shortcuts. This shit will take you from the top to last in a damn heart beat when you get hit as you are about to jump. I see people try to wait it out but nope you are just screwing yourself more. There are plenty of other stages with huge gaps but from my knowledge WS is the only stage that takes you further back into the stage, the rest just fish you out of the water/lava and put you back on the track near where you fell in.

You guys should tier all the MK items, including Double Dash. The giant banana peel was awesome right before a cliff/jump. The fact that it split into 3 when hit was awesome too. If you were lucky enough to be able to put two of those side by side before a jump, there was no escape
