I’m impressed that there’s enough demand to warrant a PFHD tourney. I used to be really into Puzzle Fighter and will do my best to tune into the stream.
yeah we threw it up op stream at a previous tournament and a bunch of us were having a shit load of fun. hate dead drops though. Like arcade one way better. plus i have trouble differentiating yellow and green.
PFHD has two major advantages over the arcade version:
It has more than one character. Yes, Donovan is viable in the arcade version, but Ken is still many times better than him. IMHO PFHD has at least 5 viable characters: Akuma, Ken, Donovan, Chun-Li, and Ryu.
Instant drops by pressing up. This was introduced in the Dreamcast version and adds a ton to the speed and flow of the game.
I used to love dead drop. cuz it made the pace of the game faster. But then I stopped playing, When I tried to get back into it, I couldn’t think fast enough either…
I think not having dead drop makes it more about strategy, and allows for people who are rusty to not to as badly…
