Malaysia airlines flight still missing

its been announced that the plane has crashed in the indian ocean

=(

riots in Beijing and the CEO of malaysia airlines giving no fucks during the press conference, anger ensues

(I wonder how long it will take for them to actually find confirmation of this, provided it’s what actually happened, especially now that weather is starting to hamper them. When does monsoon season start? I always forget.)

Similarly, I wonder how much longer the American news networks are going to focus on this ad nausem provided that nothing concrete continues to be found. I give it about a week, personally, especially between it being Spring Break now–always time for a new missing white girl tragedy–and that landslide that just happened in Washington state.

As for this supposed outcome, I wouldn’t really be surprised if that’s what happened. Really, everyone dying quickly would be like the “best” outcome of all the situations where no one or not everyone gets to return home alive anyway; it’s better than living the rest of your life enslaved or whatever. The only surprising thing about this is that Malaysian people in charge decided it would be best to try inform the families they couldn’t reach quickly, as in the majority of them, in English even though the majority of the people affected by this are Chinese speaking; I don’t even like China, I get off on the suffering of others and even I still find that rather fucked up.

Incoming text: hey sorry ur fam an all the ppl on the plane r in the ocean :(.

malaysia has fucked up its handling of this situation. first they withheld info when flight first went missing, then they werent forthcoming with info, then they kept the chinese in a hotel room and gave them little to no info, then they texted “suplol your family daed”

as a han chinese i am pissed

(Speaking of Malaysian officials, I am the only one who can’t help thinking of Persona when the frontman for whoever is handling this mess in Malaysia speaks. The guy’s name is “Hishammudin” [Bin Hussein]. I can’t be the only who thinks that sounds like a spell. Anyway…)

Well, to be fair to Malaysian officials, they only resulted to such an insensitive tactic because they feared that they were would be made to look even more incompetent when someone inevitably leaked it to the media otherwise, which would doubtless also insensitively released it first if it had gotten wind. This given the frankly insane and inane amount of media coverage on what’s been a whole lot of nothing wasn’t exactly an unfounded fear. Between that and things that aren’t, some slow-moving aside, really unique fuck-ups to the Malaysians when it comes to this type of thing, I think the Malaysians are being unduly blamed overall.

Also, the Malaysian officials also supposedly did try to connect families more privately before that mass text, but couldn’t get to the majority of them from what I understand. So the mass text happened.

So, to me, the real fuck-up is less the mass text and more that they didn’t bother to translate it into Chinese as well give so they didn’t delude people who couldn’t read English into thinking that there was good news. Given that apparently happened to at least one Chinese woman who forwarded the text to someone else before hope crushed her as hope–useless, useless hope–always does…yeah. I can’t make any excuse on them fucking up hardcore on that one really.

Anyway, at this point, it seems that China is a whole is (understandably) pissed and this might be half-dumped off to the Australians since they’re willing to take in the families of the missing/dead while they wait for…anything.
