Did you try delayed dp with ryu?, not reversal

Just retested and edited, you want to hit the jump hp normal not high to hit crouchers and thus take away the auto correct dp since early jump hp will whiff crouchers. Ryu cant rly late dp it even at all. But with this he can reversal lp dp trade, which is not too bad a trade except if he has super or you are near corner for ulta juggle. But to avoid this can go higher with the jump hp but then run risk of auto correct dp. But its in your favour with the control to an extent.

Safe Jump HK OS kara EX oroshi.

Avoid EX messiah (punish)
Beat back dash

Maybe works vs slow invuln EX character like rose. Have to test

Just found something cool as well for rufus, safe jump (neutral jump) OS cr hk will make ex messiah whiff on hit and go over the top! The OS has to be later tho rather than sooner to induce whiff. So safe jump with RH to give you the most time.

c.MP xx MP Hayate lands a lot in a match as a punisher and off of Tsurugis. What do you guys find is the best follow-up to that? I see s.LK afterwards, by some players. I’m not really feeling s.LK xx HC, though, too unsafe, unsafe even on hit.

Also, any characters that can be grabbed after MP Hayate? Any list or anything a la the HP Hayate post-mix-up list?

Try kara normal throw. I know when you do it after s.mp xx mp hayate, it has a tendency to beat jabbing.

Some simple setups after u1 on hit
*f+fp one hit (whiff) -> empty jump f -> meaty st mp frame perfect meaty st mp (last act. f)
*f+fp one hit (whiff) -> jump f whiff norm -> meaty cr lk frame perfect meaty cr lk (last act. f)

4f safe jump [4f] *Dash * 2 -> cr lk (whiff) wait 1f-> neutral jump normal
5f safe jump
Dash -> f+mk (whiff) -> neutral jump normal

Adon: Safe jump; f+mp -> cr mp -> jump f norm
Blanka, Sagat & Cammy Safe jump: Dash * 3 -> neutral jump

Remember to plink the whiffs like you would any other link.

Just posting this here from another thread for clarity’s sake;Vryu fake cross setup in the corner (my testing):
-input: -ex oroshi: dash -> st lk (whiff) -> pause 1-2 f -> jump f hp/mk
-hp oroshi: f+hp (whiff) -> jump f hp/mk
-effect: jump f hp doesn?t cross up (fakes cross) and keeps them in corner whilst jump mk crosses up.
-works on: Dudley & gouken & guile (if blocks cross will still hit and you land cross, must block non cross), fei long, seth & juri & t hawk (always end in corner but must block it non cross or hit), abel, viper & hakan & zangief & fuerte & cammy* (if blocks towards corner blocks and you end up in corner), dictator, Dee jay (will whiff if blocks towards corner note), rufus, claw (not really 50/50 as blocked like jump mk and puts in corner?)
*Cammy wakes up 1f later so delay jump 1f

man you just gotta love the Makoto community, i’ve never seen those setups before, so if they are old even more reason for threads to be maintained up to date by a mod or something, this shit is ridiculous…too much information slipping through the cracks. we should nominate someone to be a mod for this character forum, i’m sure they could implement mods that operate in the character forums only, & this way we get someone who’s passionate about the character & would put in the time without fuss as he’s a fellow Mak player
