No hilarity here, this section name is Videos critiques, so a discussing about a Makoto on video is pretty legit. He’s practically the lone one out there right now, since most players from the same level field (Japan) left the character.
Daigo is terrified of Makoto, not Misse. He was ALWAYS worried about Makoto since her is one of a kind character with a full bag of tricks with a damage/stun output even scarier than E.Ryu especially against low health characters. When Makoto was announced to be improved she’s one of Daigo probable pick. Then Capcom gives him AE Yun. In general he didn’t play that good against Makoto, since Misse is the best right now the result is pretty obvious.
Criticized Misse use of EX Fuki tools was an hyperbole, every Makoto player keep using post-hayate mixups at their pleasure and never stop, but obviously isn’t abusable and now isn’t her best mixup tool. What I criticize about Misse Ex Fuki is the use of, not how he “prepare” the opponent to this. Sometimes he wait too much to go for the max damage that tool can give. Obviously is risky but, you know what? He give to the opponent just a possibility to save his ass and often, too often, he loses matches he deserves to win. Look at his last match against Nemo or the Evo match against Daigo. Those are the two who make a comeback thanks to Misse’s fault. Playing Makoto means capitalizing every single possibility to do the max damage, too often he doesn’t go for it and choose the sure damage. EX Fuki-HK Tsurugi can be useful sometimes to put the opponent in guess, but we all know isn’t the best damage possibility. He knows well how to use hayate post mixups, but what @Etherealwtf says about before was correct.
[ quote] Does Misse have room to level up some more? Of course he does, everyone who plays this game is trying to hit that next skill plateau, even the veterans and gods who we admire and cheer for every time they play. I just want to remind everyone that hindsight is 20/20 and given what we’ve seen, Misse has been more successful than not so far. If he had beaten that Balrog instead, we’d be less inclined to criticize his gameplay. In fact, I didn’t even really see him do anything wrong in that Balrog match up. Want to know why Balrog can afford to sit there and wait? Because he’s fucking Balrog. His offense comes from defense because he’s a charge character. The entire onus of starting the offensive was on Misse because charge characters just sit and wait. That’s not something new, that’s every charge character in the entirety of existence. About the worst thing Misse did in those matches was make hard reads that just didn’t pay out, because you actually have to take risks to play Makoto and not just hold downback and hit jab and sweep occasionally.

-R- pretty knows how to play this MU,just play D. He forced Misse to do something and it works. Since his gameplan is pretty clear, why keep mash buttons when you know Rog goes for a counter move? Slowly approach is a better option instead, this is where EX Hayate comes into play. Put Rog in the corner limits his movements and possibility to out-footsies Makoto and give Misse a lot of ways to destroys Boxer. Lack of patience is one of the bad habits every Makoto have thanks to her need to be close (and for her awful walkspeed,sf4 defensive mechanics, etc.) and -R- use this at his own advantage. Against a turtle you need to turtle more… At first. After gaining the life lead we just need to stay where our counter moves works, Rog hasn’t many safe ways to approach Makoto and most of them means give up the charge.
