Was a good video. A few moments I hadn’t seen.

Does anyone have any recent tips on the T. Hawk matchup? I’ve been working on my personal bad matchups lately, and this is the only one that I haven’t found anything helpful on. I may as well play blindfolded.

Are there any proper punishes to his stuff besides Ex Hayate after a blocked dive?
Should I even jump in this match? (I’ve been trying to poke out long distance Tsurugis)
My anti air game is a losing battle against him. All T.Hawks seem to figure this out and go nuts as the game goes on. I haven’t really gotten Fukiage against him down.
And the last thing I notice are that his pokes beat mine a lot of the time. Poor timing on my part?

Sorry; just realized this is the wrong thread.

amazing compilation vid of haitani in motion and all tournament footage too!

Recent local!

vs Boxer. I was sorta finding my steam in this match, I hadnt played in a while and was unfamiliar with the player but managed to fluke out

vs Claw. I felt like I have a read on a lot of specific things on the player but wasnt able to keep my nerve that took me through the initial stages of the match. Next time, I will use more lows to catch him walking backwards.

vs Rufus. Okay, now this one is pretty interesting, because this particular player was one of my demons who I always lose to. I feel like I have this player downloaded for the moment? I was surprised by the effectiveness of air to airs and particularly like one of the ways to punish messiah that is used. While I get perfected in the third round, I never really felt threatened and tried to apply it. In some ways, I feel like giving up a round where you get perfected as Makoto has strategic value; you get to see someone go in their default ‘training mode’ and their gaps are pretty clear
Now, I had another match vs my biggest demon where I actually shut him out completely, but due to stream problems it wasnt caught except the last round of the last game.

vs Claw. This time, Luger takes me by a much larger margin, although i make some crucial game changing drops. In all, I stop using a variety ofnormals and fail to pen claw in the corner and attempt to get Vega to do anything but hold down back. I feel like sweep is very important vs Claw because even though he can punish it rather hard it forces him to down back which is really half the point anyway since he isnt using his #1 ranked walk speed against you. Overall, what I see is that I lost my nerve and was getting somewhat desperate to win quickly and decisively, forgetting the basics of my gameplan, and returning to the old gameplan too late in the game at which point I was easily reacted to.

I saw your match vs Lugar and I think u did better in game 3 and 4 because u spent less time trying to go after him. Yiu started to have the right idea in those games cause u consentrated more on counter poking him instead of dashing or ax kicking to try and go in. I’ve learned patients against charge characters playing against zeus, insaynne, Dieminion etc

With experience and patience Guile isn’t a problem. Sadly with the DWU his defense gonna be even stronger. We gonna see how the matchup gonna change in USF4,can’t wait to hit the lab with Mak’s EX Fukiage just for find new tricks. Sometimes I forget the new j.mk,maybe that can help us to mix it up with the Tsurugi for guaranteed crossups. @Etherealwtf you can find new ways for some meaties with normals/oroshi against Delayed Standing? We can add another normal or nj. to cover the 11f delay?

45f + 11f = 56f
56f + 11f = 67f
68f + 11f = 79f
You can assume cHP delayed wake will be able to be meatied by oroshis since 56f = regular backthrow KD length.
Oroshi’s meaty frame are 27 for lp,28 for mp and 29f for hp.
sLP + fHK feint + oroshi mp = 12 + 27 + 28 = 67f
I think there will be no problem to find new ways. Our fastest move is stand LP which is 12f. Stand MP meaty frame is 11th one

You can almost stick out a meaty stMP that account for delayed wake up after half our setups already anyway.
Add new stuff to be discover to that and I’m not worried.

I’ve been thinking a bit about DWU, and it’s really big for us I feel. For our own defense I mean. People will need to take a lot of risk about options select now, and if people reduce the amount of OS they use, backdashing become a way better wake up tool.

So from when I played ultra. Yeah. DWU makes it a completelly different game. You have to relearn everything. Of course, I think intuition / mind games / american play is favored with DWU, because it breaks the robot guaranteed setups and you have to be more creative because you cant just bet on black and win consistently anymore. Haitani cites Honda and Guile as being massively problematic characters with DWU.

I think we will be OK considering we have mid screen mixups into RESET and not a knockdown. Also ultra2 combos off ex fukiage is strong for positioning and damage.

Ex Fuki into U2 damage isn’t that damaging to be honest.

U1 isn’t either. U2 now functions as damage and an escape instead of just damage. There are more practical applications for U2 (In ultra)

So you can’t escape with U2 now? Having the new EX Fukiage don’t help when you’re trapped in the corner. Damege?

If you see we can reach 404dmg starting from st.HP,maybe if we starts from a karakusa or another normal we gonna feel some damage scaling even with 2 bars. ATM U2 without full animation can reach 450dmg,full animation 579dmg,over 600 with 2 bars+in the corner+full animation. U1 is comboable in many ways and we have some damage scaling only if we start with a karakusa (424dmg from a karakusa meterless).

wat

I think the utility of u2 more than makes up the small damage nerf you get from using it. Especially considering how easy it is for Makoto to get them in the corner.

Somebody was looking for Makoto vs. Akuma footage? This is an example of how not to play:

That ultra read in the first claw match on his wakeup was something else, good shit!
