I tested it against Makoto’s nj mk safe jumps post ex oroshi. If you try to wakeup cr mk, you will get counter hit in those. But with lp fukiage, the jump attack whiffs.
So it looks more like it is invincible to jump attacks than that it’s hurtbox is too low to the jump in hit. I will try it again with a more deep hitting jump in.
sounds like you keep the hurtbox of the fukiage which gets low to the ground and you can cancel from that position into karakusa. really cool stuff. reminds me of upper body invincibility from guilty gear. basically cuts your hurtbox in half.
Good Akumas don’t do DF Palm when you’re standing, but on your wakeup or reset situations. If he goes for an OS ultra (or shoryu, tatsu) it’s done. Yeah, all depends on the skill level of the Makoto you’re playing.
In the video, i did OS sweep with gouki and it grabs before sweep goes out.
Os shoryu will beat it, but no one does that vs makoto because of her backdash.
Normally, throws has priority input on special moves. Im going to check if we can do fuki cancel backthrow. Which would be easier to do.
Kara karakusa is a bit risky because if you push punch too early, karakusa will comes out as reversal instead of fukiage.
Btw, its strange. You dont have to plink to make it work. I did a lot of ex oroshi kara karakusa and the input displayed wasnt plinked. Maybe we have more cancelable frames with EX oroshi?
^^great vid, just a small question, what do you think about doing her kara ex karakusa as hcb, f+lk then kk right after? I noticed in the beginning of the vid u were doing Kara ex fuki with forward lk then do motion, but I’ve found it’s easier to do dp motion, f+lk, pp right after
since a DP itself is F, D, DF, the most economical way to do the movement is F+LK, down, df, buttons. I really cant imagine doing it another way. sounds like a good way to get some missed inputs.
VRyu, throws might have priority over specials (and ultra/supers), but I think reversal specials have priority over throws.
Also the reversal and the cancel need not to be “plinked” to each other since the reversal has that larger input window for coming out.
