Makoto Video Thread/Match Critiques

Love the use of those hayate cancels and blockakusa. Sadly last ones are too weak against cr. lights mashings and invincible reversals. Sometimes after an hayate on hit we can do almost nothing due to the reversal factor.<br>

Damn that LioR video got me pumped!<br><br>I know it’s essentially a highlight reel of their best moments but still, I’d love to play more like that. Any idea how s/he got that deep Cross-up Tsurugi at approx 1.15?

I think the cammy was mashing crouch tech : that’s why this jump in, instant tusrugi is meant for i think. He was already very deep since his attackjump hits. It looks nice but i think it’s better to get the jump in damage. I saw Lior playing today in a tournament and he bodied a Rufus. I wish i could see this again. It feels like this guy knows all you bad habits before he fights you.<br>

So for the 2nd dash, do you have to input in the opposite direction, or just continue mashing forward? I’ve had varying inconsistent results depending on the height of the HP.

66 44.<br>You should input your second forward dash after you crossdowned. You are right the HP height changes a lot of things.<br>Why u no ia tsurugi after a crossdown?

Is there more to be known about this setup ? Also i would like to know why after a safe jump you always use LP for the jump, when you could use MK. Are you letting a door open for them to escape (since a guarded LP, does not give a lot of blockstun, they could escape between lp and sMP), to OS something ? Maybe a dash OS is in the sMP ?<br>

I use J.Lp Because my opponent fear of J.lp to karakusa That’s why I often Do J.lp to Hp It’s Frame trap and if he try to jump S.Hp stops him Or I do J.lp Os Dash  to karakusa If he back dash, forward dash to karakusa comes out if he Simply guard Makoto will do J.Lp to Karakusa. Why not use Ultra 1 against Rufus? <br><br>For me the general rule is if they don’t have a fireball you should probably use Ultra 1, with an exception being made for Viper.

I use U2 against Rufus (when I find one…) to leave quickly the corner if he’s able to push me in,isn’t easy grab that fat ass… I don’t love U2 randomness,but the potential damage is insane: i.e. after a blocked EX Messiah Kick (before the last follow up hit) we can drop 579dmg with one bar.<br>

So I finally got my capture device working for my PS3, but my laptop can’t really handle 720p so apologies for the low quality footage. Gonna upload some proper matches for critiquing soon.
