Apparently that Cody never heard of Bingo. Just sayin.
you really need to stop doing c.fp over and over and over … and over
edit: and you dont block high… ever it seems, u get hit by most every jump in. s.mp is FAR superior to c.mk as aa forget c.mk exists. against guy s.mp beats every move he has
c.mp doesnt really link into anything other than hayate which is fine but dont overuse it
Thanks for the tips. I feel like i’ve been using cr.MP a bit TOO MUCH, so I’m surprised to hear you say I need to use it more. I’ll try that.
A lot of the other stuff you mentioned is bad habits i’ve picked up after a while. I used to never back away after a knockdown, but I started getting shoryuken’d and thrown a lot on wakeup, so I started trying to bait out those moves and then backdash away. I’ll try to do that less. I also sorta stopped using karakusa. not really sure why, but it’s generally caused me to eat more knuckle-sandwiches than I’ve dished out, so I guess I just subconsciously stopped doing it. I hadn’t thought of dash-in EX karakusa though, I’ll definitely give that one a shot.
I think my reflexes are too bad to use LP Fukiage. I’ve seen its usefulness as an anti-air, but it’s so rare that the chance happens for me to use it that I’m never looking for it. generally i look for cr.MK or jumping HP opportunities for anti-air, just cos they tend to work more often. what kind of range is fukiage good for, anyways? it seems good to stop crossups, but not much else really.
yeah, i’ve just started noticing how much I use cr.HP after watching my replays. i’ll try to fix that.
as for blocking high, i think these videos just might be bad examples. I was trying to learn how to use cr.MK as anti-air in these videos, but i wasn’t so good at it, so I ended up eating a lot of aerials as I was crouching. i dont normally crouch block so much.
thanks for the pointers guys, i’ll put this to good use, hopefully!

Notes to self: my pressure strings are sorta predictable and I need to use her aa normals more.
After understanding the importance of spacing and footsies in this game, i improve alot with my makoto. I don’t win too much but my opponent victory are less flawless.
Here some videos of my makoto now. If someone had some time to tell me what’s wrong, thanks.

Obviously jumped too much on this one.

Too bad i missed the ultra execution on the first round and panicked in the last. First time here that i did a karasuka after Chun land on the ground. it’s cool and efficient.
Every round it seems like theres a random ultra thrown out
Lots and lots of missed fukiage opportunities vs chun
New vids from Mok11bk
Dictator seems to be a very hard match for Makoto = \
vs Claw, great pressure on the last round!
strange how mok11bk plays against dictator
I never do any fukiage, really a move that i don’t get. i’ll try it more.
And for pimp willy, only the last were random, i was expecting they’ll hit me. Risky though, i can miss as you saw, i’d better hit confirm them.
Thanks for both. i’ll work on this two point.
For tide (mok11bk), I don’t understand your unstoppable string of poke. dictator outrange you with his kick and you ate every psycho crusher he did. Same thing with vega, exept you can trade with HK. nice last round, this was funny.
@pedrosanchau, I’m not mok11bk lol.
The bison match up seems really tough for makoto… I thought Mok played it pretty decently, what errors did he make in that video?
I’m a shitty player so i can’t really say it is wrong. But for me, always attack like he did is strange. He always get hit by bison kick which hit further than makoto punches or hit by psycho crusher because he try to punch him from too far away and thus couldn’t protect. His play at close range was much better i think.
And yes i agree, bison is one of my worst matchup.
i don’t know why, but he seemed to be wanting to build meter at all cost before engaging…the rest was pretty standard, HK for his knee presses, lotsa MP poking, Hayates after head stomp. he just got a little too spas-happy at the end, it’s almost a given that a Bison player will wake up with a psycho crusher

This guy is great
damn, Flash is just fearless with Makoto…don’t know why he doesn’t give her a chance seriously
Flash makes Mak look soooo good. Damn near perfect in reads, execution and spacing.
Yeah I definitely took note of Flash’s spacing with her, he always spaces out her forward dash perfectly so he get’s to stay inside on his opponent and keep pressuring.
wow that Makoto vs Hakan match was complete domination from Makoto, Hakan did not get to do anything lol.
What I’m seeing in Flash’s vids is that his opponents were giving Makoto way too much respect he didn’t condition them for, lol. Holding down back isn’t what kills Makoto. It only helps her because of her command grab. It’s walking back (for characters with good walk speed), backdashing, jumping (neutral or back), and reversals that kills her and I didn’t see them abusing it enough. They just kept holding down back is if they are fighting against Cammy or something.
Karaing Hayate feints from toward short to stay up close is smart though.
