Yeah i been watching his matches lately. looks like he’s coming back for his crown lol.

After watching vryu do so well against Hakan in that last video, I’m starting to see the power of dash TC1. It seems when spaced properly, this thing wreaks havoc on focus (obviously), back dashing, late mashing, late stand throwing, jumping and pretty much any non invulnerable mashing. It’s something I haven’t used a lot of, but will try to incorporate in my game, especially since it can be cancelled now. But when Vryu used it, it was much more brilliant than I expected…

He seemed to use it as a tester. To see what the opponent would do afterward, especially after TC1 HC. It seems like a slightly less rewarding but infinitely more safe version of dash in cLK, and a MUCH more rewarding and MUCH more safe option than dash Karakusa or dash normal, eve with Hayate attached due to being able to sLK Kara. It also has the Range and speed o deal with some opponents attempts at EX Counters (like Cody special moves, Dudley’s moves, and anything bison can do other than cLK) as well as displace other grapplers mashing and/or Mistiming SPD.

Just a question… Is anyone out there REALLY using TC1 like vryu did in this vid? Why or why not? I’m going to try and implement it into my game I see if I can work on mixing up the opponent. I’ve been using a lot I’d dash sLP, HK Karakusa to catch people slipping, but it’s a bit predictable and loses to mashed throws often. Mixups I’m thinking about are:

Note there are 2 responses for different bait:

Dash sLK:
Dash sLK, crouch block for bait
Dash sLK, cLK buffer LP Hayate for bait
Dash sLK xx Oroshi
Dash sLK Kara
Dash sLK, recover, Kara EX Oroshi

Dash TC1:
Dash TC1, crouch block for bait
Dash TC1 xx Oroshi
Dash TC1 HC
Dash TC1 HC, cLK buffer EX Hayate for bait
Dash TC1 LP Hayate charge (L2 release on hit, hold on block to bait reversal)

After baiting with crouch block or HC:

Due to the distance you’re closer to them, so see what they will do and react or block accordingly

After baiting with cLK buffer:

You’re further away, so your options regarding punishment are better if they bite, but you lose a slight bit of pressure. Here, Fukikusa can come into play as you will have time to react to a jump or a backdash. Most back dashes take about 25f, and Neutral jumps take at least 40f so you can react and punish with Fukikusa AND whiffed reversals accordingly. Dash normal throw is a good safe option here, as is fMP, sMP buffer, cMP buffer or HC, etc.

I’m just brainstorming cause my power is out from a storm so all of this is on iPhone lol. I’m not going back and making edits. If anyone has ideas let me know…

TC1 is -4 on guard. So its not safe. And sometimes, 2nd hit whiffs :frowning:

I just it a lot against STErcan, because it’s a happy focuser, especially oiled

Lol ok got it, that makes sense.

yeah, and because the way Hakan’s focus works, if you dont hit him twice very quickly, you get punish (FA dash cancel any move -> slide)
:frowning:

Ah I see.

I know I’m inundating you with questions but 2 things from the Cody vid…

-I noticed a lot of max range cMP, HC, then Yamase. I saw it counter hit once in I think the third or fourth game (?) is this a setup you were using for CH or to try to trade then U1, or just to test, or what lol. I never saw anyone use this before…

-really? sHK after fMP lol. It didn’t catch but is this a CH setup too? 1 time I thought it was random but you did it 2x lol. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm

Just watched the vega match and all I have to say is … I feel your pain man lol. I’ve fought jozhear every now and then and the match is really fun BUT vega can be annoying. If you aren’t up to par with what you’re normals can do against his vega will eat you up from the outside lol.

If the claw player told me he would upload matches, i wouldnt have play like that, and played 100% to win (not trying crossup setups, not getting hit by his random FADC, punishing every EX wall jump, etc etc).

That kind of ninja upload are just -_-
But thats life.
Let him think “HEY GUYS IVE BEATEN VRYU, LOOK”. If that can make his days happy xD

Same for imstilldadaddy. He uploads matches in which he wins 5-3, but where are the 18-2 I did against him? xD

I think almost every single video of me on YouTube has me losing. And I’m not even a name in the community lol.

now that I think about it he was in a private replay room from the looks of it:s that’s how things go nowadays. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if someone uploaded a “first to five” replay of them winning when in reality it was a first to 10 and they ended up losing. It is what it is.

That’s why i need to get my computer up to speed.

WE NEED TO SEE THE TRUFFFFFFF

honestly for me, win or loose, i’m just happy to see you play! whether you’re just having fun and trying new stuff or hammering it out tournament style, it’s just great to see all this tech in action.

My opponents were pretty good. Let’s learn from them together.

I would love to see a first to 5 set with vryu against 3 frame reversal characters. I would like to see how his game flows, how he makes wake up pressure safe, how he baits reversals, etc. (i know how I deal with it, I just want to see how vryu deals with it) I’ve been loving these ft5 sets, but they’ve kind of been non problem characters.

I know meu has no control on ALL the replays that are uploaded of him but does he have a problem safe jumping? Take the cammy match. He didn’t safe jump from what I could see.

anyone watched the starting over 5 on 5 tourny last night? the makoto 5 went crazy on some of those teams it was awesome. though i didn’t get to see all of it, what i did see was nice.
