Sump up of this weekend (finally have a keyboard, and not on iphone xD):
(wall of text…)
Spoiler
Day 1 (as already said):
Made a large winstreak (47 if I remember). 2/3 was against “unknown” players, but some of them was against skatan, yagami, ryan hart too.
Vs Skatan:
He played Chunli (stopped Sakura and waiting for 2k12 ). Very very good footsies and defense as usual.
Vs Yagami:
He plays dhalsim. A very good Dhalsim…but Makoto is just too annoying for him.
Vs Ryan Hart:
Made a longer set and won about 7 matches in a row (vs Yun). Then he switched to sagat just for one match and stopped my win streak, then he went back to yun. I think we finished about 13-5 for me.
After this, I started the cue to play poongko (a friend told me that he was looking for me. lol.). It wasnt moneymatches, so LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of people was waiting. There was sometimes good matches, but sometimes I was just so angry that players who cant do shoryuken as AA make me wait that long. Hahaha.
When my turn arrived. I’ve lost 4-1. Making some decision mistakes, but noticed some things on poongko’s gameplay (especially defense), and was sure I could do better the next time.
After waiting about 1 hour of cue again… I could play him again.
Things were different. I won 3-2. He was standing up to leave…but no way…he had to stay here. He’s the guy i wanted to play
As said, we did a longer set (about 15 matches) and eachother won about the same amount of matches. At the end, I wanted to leave (because people behind started to become salty “blabla, it’s our turn to play, blabla, let me make lose your time (lol)”, but poongko told me “nononoo, one more one more”. I’ve lost this last match and finally leave.
I went back to the other AE setup (yeah. There was only 2 xbox with ssf4 on saturday…), and did another ~35 wins, including, as usual, “unknown” players, but Ferdi, Momi and DoomDomain too.
Did a FT5 vs Momi too. I won 5-4. His fei is very strange. He abuses flamekick and reversal CW a lot. Long time I didnt play that kind of fei (used to play evans, who knows that doing random will maybe make him lose 1/3 life. Momi doesnt care. LOL). This caused me lot of trouble.
I won 5-0 against Ferdi’s Abel/Seth too. Seriously, this guy is very very cool. We talked about internet trash, and both said we’ll stop all that shit, etc etc.
And he IS a good player. (he sent evans and luffy to loser bracket. Ok it’s seth (very powerful and a bit “unknown” character), but no matter. This guy is strong.
Day 2:
God damn it. I should have to go to red light district until 3AM and drink all those shots xDD (girls in the window, from 11PM to 4AM are TOOOO gorgious. hahahaha). Headache, tired AND…very late.
We arrived at the tournament near 11.45AM (started at 11AM). and could only play 2-3 casual matches to warm up.
Groups:
I lost a match against a Dictator. Omg…I was SO angry. I was jumping everywhere, getting hit by 123187817 mashed crLK, etc. And lost.
That made me finish 2nd of my group.
Winner Bracket:
I played my first match vs Momi. Lost it 2-1. I noticed he couldnt rekka very well (I mean, he doesnt really know the range to do it). I made him whiff some of them and punish…but I dont know why, I didnt use it to win. Instead of playing footsies with his rekkas, I started to “rush” and got hit by all those flamekicks, Chicken Wing, and “half life character specific combo”. I was sent into looser bracket…
Looser Bracket
The dictator (which finished first of my group) was sent to looser, and I had to play him again. This time, didnt make the same mistake.
Won 2-0 (and 2 perfects! revenge taken!! lol).
After some unknown guys, good players started to arrive in looser…First, starnab…
Vs Starnab:
Very very good french feilong (i think you know him). Damn it. AGAIN a feilong.
Hopefully, we didnt play eachother for long time and didnt know things about crossup tsurugi, etc. I won 2-1. Very close match (last match, last round). I was very happy. One strong feilong out!
Vs Evans:
I knew it would be different from starnab. I use to play Evans, so, he knows about crossup/unblockable tsurugi.
Thankfully, he only knew backthrow -> crHP setup. So, he got hit by different one (after EX oroshi) AND the jHP fake crossup in the corner.
I won 2-1 (last round). Last move was TOTALLY gambling. We both had very low life and I was knocked down. He had 2 EX bar and jump at me.
I was like “ok…if he safe jump, my EX karakusa wins. If he empty jump throw or flame kick, I lose.”. I chose the first option…and HE DID SAFE JUMP, YEAH. I won.
Haha, After the match, I was telling him "ok, now you notice that your bitches feilong isnt the only one with ambigeous crossup in the corner :> ". He laughed. lol.
He was telling me "omg omg omg, if i did flamekick with my 2 FADC, i would have won the match :(:(:(:(:( "
Vs Ryan Hart:
Totalheads fight…he used sagat!!! Because on Day1 he saw that he could give me trouble with this character. Ryan has a very good tiger shot game. Damn it.
Not a lot to say about this match. I played footsies a lot. Made him whiff TU into big punish, and was lucky that he missed an ultra1 once.
He should have stay with his yun (which is lot better). That “counterpicking” rule just makes lose players…that doesnt help them. He didnt punish my EX hayate in guard, etc.
I won 2-1.
Vs Luffy:
I was very confident! I know luffy backdash a lot, and would use it against him. And his ultra2 nerf is good. hahaha.
Won 2-0
Vs Momi (revenge!):
This time, i (almost) didnt make the same mistake. I played carefully. I know it would be difficult though, because all the dutch community was with him. And he was on fire to have been that far. I finally won 2-1. I couldnt lose twice to him!
Vs Ferdi:
Same as Momi. He won against evans and luffy. He was in the loser final. He was dutch (so lot of people were with him). Even If I won 5-0 on Day 1…it will be a very tough match. I was sure he would try to do lot of SPD. Used it against him and landed lot of tsurugi and straight jump. It was so hype. I was happy to win.
Vs Poongko:
Totalheads fight again!
Nothing really big to say. I know that if i’m in the corner, it’s almost game over. Tried to avoid this as much as possible. Landed a tsurugi crossup on him, but missed the combo. rhaaa. I had to win 2 sets to win, so i know that it would be sooooooooooo difficult, but I could do it! So, i did my best. But have lost. LOL.
I give him back the perfect, so, i was happy. hahahaha.
Lost 2-1.
It was a good tournament. I’m very satisfied to have beaten all of those top players (european best feilongs, european best rose, european best seth (i guess) and made a very good impression to poongko.
This guy is really cool. We talked some times about tournament, canada cup, next year events etc. I wish I could play him again soon.
