Congratulations to V-ryu for placing high against some tough competition.
On another note, V-ryu, the commentators don’t really know that much about you or Makoto, do they?
EDIT: Favorite part of your matches: Louffy activates U2, you give him Yamase to the face before he can get anything started.
man that commentator is s tier great commentating. Although i would bet on poongko i was rooting for vryu. Grand finals should be best of 5 though especially vs poongko who just goes crazy.
Vryu is swiss, not french. People are often mistaken since he’s from french speaking part of Switzerland .You often see him in big french tounaments, he also has good relationship with french top players, thats why you often hear them cheering him in the background, making him even more mistaken for a french guy.
And yeah the commentators had no clue what they were talking about. “OMG 1 frame tsurugi ultra1111” said a billion times.
So much bull in the stream chat , I was laughing my ass off … most of them were trolling , but yeah VRyu is from Switzerland , they do speak french in Switzerland if I’m not mistaken. What I don’t like about this is that all the poongko fans are gonna say “he never had a chance anyway” - BULLSHIT , it was so equal … I already have 2 people talking shit to me and they piss me off SO MUCH “europeans are shit , poongko is awesome , japanese are awesome , europe sucks at ssf4, free money for poongko” etc. bullshit …Funnier thing is that they dont step it up , they just look up to the better players instead of becoming better themselves to push us at atleast the USA level
No lol , they know he’s korean , they just think (atleast the bunch that I talk to) that if you are not japanese/poongko you will never be good at the game (atleast it SOUNDS exactly like that). And I keep telling them , are you japanese? NO! Shutup and get better instead of crying that europeans arent good , europeans arent good cause YOU arent good (if you get what I mean)
@mcgowanshewrote I have no idea , but it would have been way more entertaining with him and other good players there , peqqiful was in holland the same weekend , but he didnt go :[ Would have been interesting to see him compete too …
EDIT: BTW , Did anyone see VRyu’s nickname up above the healthbar ? It said TH| V-Ryu (as in totalheads?) wasgoin on ?
I asked V-Ryu about this a few months ago and he said it was a pseudo-sponsorship. He’s under the Total Heads banner, but I don’t think he’s getting very much from them. That could be changing since he placed second AND he did it in impressive fashion. Hopefully, TH will now send him to more tournies.
I beat overmostheads 10-5 yay , he didnt know the matchup though , in time we’ll try again , gonna ask if he wants me to post some stuff here , he’s got a RETARDED ONI … got me scared the first games , but I managed to pull it off
Here’s a piece of advice you should adhere to while learning any fighting game: “At any point in the match, you should be able to pause the game and explain the reasoning behind your actions.” This pertains to EVERYTHING.
Let’s take for example something I noticed in many of your matches. You back-dash as soon as the round starts. Why? Makoto is a close range fighter. By back-dashing you create MORE space between you and your opponent for no good reason. Furthermore, your opponent rarely showed signs of opening with aggression. In fact, the few times he did, I felt he was trying to catch you for your constant retreat.
Here’s another: your FA usage hurt more than helped. Again, why? What reason did you have to FA that much? Your opponent didn’t really show he was vulnerable to that kind of tactic.
Little details make all the difference (aka time to hit the lab):
-work on c.MP OS. You missed out on so much damage and KDs.
-practice Tsurugi. I’m sure I don’t need to go into details.
-get your links down. Your game will open up so much more when you can perform them consistently.
-chill out on crouch teching. That guy lit you up when he noticed you used it a lot.
wat cmp os? i thought Smp os sweep/shk is the best mak has.
Jamal u need defence u try to wake up fuki at obvious safe jumps and doing wake up grabs/ex kara way to often. Focus on defence 1st b4 u learn anything
SMP ex hayate is not a os it will come out regardless and ryu gets free dp
