Makoto Ultra SFIV

These will be pretty practical, not sure if ex fukiage will work the same as the mod

I used Ultra Makoto at UFGTX. She will be fine, but everyone should brush up on their Yun and Yang match ups. If you catch a backdash midscreen with MK Tsurugi, EX Fukiage can juggle. I had trouble hitting Poison with j.FP after EX Fukiage. Karakusa > MP 3x works on Elena, Decapre, Rolento, and probably Hugo. One or two stray hits followed by two reps of c.LP > s.LP > s.MP xx EX Fukiage = stunned Rufus. Theory fighter: I think a good option off the Fukiage reset will be dash > s.FP xx Hayate cancel since the s.MP will link on crouchers.

Also, I appreciate those red focus videos… but whiffing a c.MK in the wrong direction before a Karakusa is not a good setup.

Btw, against some character, you can just do ex fuki > dash > LP fuki. But once again, you should use any normal except HP.

One of the requested change was to have less pushback after hayate (LK karakusa range)

I don’t know why he do that, against others characters he use cr.HK and cr.lk also. I don’t know if that helps for tsurugi crossups or for bait some dp’s.

These days I’ve tried to reply the post ex fuki setups using the FA. After the j.HP is possible cross the opponent with j.mk or something else? Also, we need to use kara-tsurugi all the time to make whiff the dp’s?

I forgot to mention that EX Fukiage > HP Hayate works midscreen. That’s what I ended up using against Poison since I couldn’t get j.FP or Tsurugi to work at the time. One of those videos mentions certain EX Fukiage follow ups not connecting if the move is cancelled from different normals; that is totally the case in Ultra and not just a mod feature, but I think it’s more character exclusive (I only noticed it on Poison and Fuerte). I don’t think it’s possible to cross-up with j.MK outside of the corner after a j.FP reset.

Someone want to crunch these numbers for me since I am too lazy?

n.HP -> f.HP -> RFA -> IAT -> HP -> EX Fuki -> n.HP

Could also end with EX Hayate into Fuki in corner.

that’s probably gonna stun most characters, but what you want is a combo that will stun just after the reset…

Its always some self-righteous fool that was never any good to begin with that comes into threads like these telling everyone its fine etc. Enjoy your low-tier badge of honor. The nerfs are real, they are horrendous and Makoto play will fade as good players migrate to other characters that were actually buffed to be viable for Ultra (almost everyone else.)

We can still fight. I’m disappointed too about her changes, but even if her defense become weaker the offense is still way better than before. And we have to discover some hidden buffs still,'til then we have to wait.

why would they make a character with already the WORST defense in the game even worst?

U2 invincibility was her only means of escape against pressure heavy characters and they nerfed that. the least they could have done was increase the invincibility frames on ex oroshi to compensate! I mean if they are balancing, that would be the logical thing to do right?

They remove U2 startup invincibility, but put Makoto in the 75% W Ultra class. Sure, give all those nerfs to Mak can feel people depressed, but with DWU our defense is improved. Were before we use U2 alone we can use W ultra now, people don’t try a meaty on us if we have karakusa ex/U1. Offensively we obtained practically a vortex if we guess right just one time with ex fuki,Makoto can dizzy all the cast just with 1-2 resets. We can make reversal whiff: if a YOLO Dp leads for a 350dmg/500 stun combo you really think they gonna try that mash again? It’s a big buff for us.
Again, we have also some hidden buffs,Dawgtanian confirmed that on Twitter talking with Vryu. We have to wait or do like me, simulating the ex fuki->j.hp post mixups already.

I’m gonna take the challenge. Who don’t want that can follow the Yun armada.

He said that after the first “final” changelog, but prior to the very last batch of changes being announced (U2 loosing invulnerability, ExOroshi juggle +1, WU 75%):

He was obviously talking about WU being buffed to 75%.

Capcom NEVER releases ALL the changes. There’s usually 1 or 2 stealth buffs/nerfs per character.

Remember our dash getting buffed was never listed from Super to AE.

I thought I saw something already about stealth changes to Gen that weren’t listed in the final of the final change log. Same could be there for Makoto?
Oh well, I’ll still use Makoto, a little bit of Chun, but really looking forward to some Poison.
Makoto will be my main for ages to come.
I’ll be punching and kicking other peoples family jewels for a long time in SF. :stuck_out_tongue:

At least people can be happy that Misse is still in top 10 on the arcade rankings so theres that.

Sorry if I’m posting in the wrong thread, but now that Ultra Combo Double has been raised to 75% (from 60), do you think it’ll be useful in some match-ups? If the math is right, full Seichusen is 330, and Abare is about 293, neither of which being horrible.

I’m thinking UCW will be good against people like Akuma, Chun, and maybe Sagat, but I may be wrong.
