Movement is important against bison so F.MP does wonders. The secret to bison is that if you move forward his headstomps just whiff and he’s punishable or atleast the ex version is. F.MP covers so many bases against Bison’s arsenal. If you F.MP during his headstomp/possible devil’s reverse you can react or dash to where he’s going to be, though i really haven’t had enough experience against Bison where i use F.MP with makoto so this is more concept than experience, but it’s worked extremely well in the one’s i’ve used it. This is for MGO_Count but i don’t know where his post is:P.
Any more effective strats against Rose? Sliding attack seems to recover so fast that i cant jab or kara, dash back is no option. am I forced to block and take abuse?
also anyone found a better technique to fighting honda besideds jumping back and QUICK BUTT reaction ST. MP for torpedo?

is is just me or does this bitch have NO favorable matchups besides lolHakan? She loses to rush down. She loses to zoning. She has decent normals for a specific range but her slow walk speed fucks her over. Dashing sucks because of the recovery. People can run away from her at will and burn the clock. Really fucking stupid. Seems like the only way she can win is to random someone out with gimmicks. Her “mixups” are unsafe as fuck. I honestly don’t see how she’s above bottom tier.

I honestly don’t think she has a single match-up in her favor either. They all require work. There isn’t a single match up I’ve played where I felt I was at advantage, unless the player I was up against was extremely bad at the game in general.
You need to get use to the reversal timing on Slide, back + throw seems the easiest option against it. I have the same problem with Adon’s Walljump, Jaguar Tooth i believe it seems to play out somewhat similar to her attack once it hits/blocks. I’ve been recently trying to do PFJC attacks to avoid getting thrown but it’s iffy, works sometimes pretty lolz to hayate people after they throw. But PFJC should work really well against a slide, PFJC a ex kara would be awesome or ex oroshi else than that, it’s up to you to read what they do after their slides.
Rose has a wakeup game just as bad as Makoto, so as long as you do everything meaty you will beat all her reversal options except U2, and U2 is an overhead so be careful of it. C.MP > Slide. There’s nothing special in this fight imo, it’s just down to footsies and taking the appropriate risks. And F.MP is awesome in footsies.

I don’t know if it’s a good match or a bad match, but I have like an 80% win rate against Vega for some reason. And whenever I fight a Vega, I never feel like I’m under a lot of pressure from anything.
Also, re: Rose’s U2. Whenever they do that from mid-range or so they like to dash forward like that shit makes them invincible, so I tend to stick out a cr.fp. They run into it more often than they should. Way more often.

Just keep at it she’ll click eventually. I’ve been feeling pretty confident again Bison, Blanka, Dudley, Sakura lately where i previously wasn’t, just took me enough matches to get use to play her and against them, though you may notice the similarities between those characters:P.
She’s a good character to really polish your game up with her, she doesn’t have certain things which make up for your bad habits or obvious weaknesses. Her anti-airs are normals. Her reversals rely on player skill and help you to improve your reversal timing a ton, not rely on a 3 framer DP with input leniency. And also you need to get your timings down after your moves, which helps your links at the same time, Ch ability and really you actually have to spent more time watching and reading your opponent so you can defend better. Though admittedly best of 3 round games go by a tad fast lol, but it’s good practice.
Every time you Hayate, you need to ensure you’ve got your timings down so you don’t lose to that poke since both players are at even frame or near even frame advantage on hit.
Like her motto she’s All-in with Footsies, you can’t move to avoid anything you just have to take a gamble, if you dash out too much you lose too many opportunities. You just can’t play her safe like other characters which is just great for your game imo. It’s all about solid game, any weakness in your game means they can keep doing the same thing over and over to you until you fix it up because you have no major fallback, ex oroshi lolz you get thrown, reversal lol bad range. Her tools aren’t really bad like Dan who is intentionally bad or not Good, but hers are Good but just harder to use.
It’s not a matter of her clicking for me. I know her gameplay in this game and have already accepted that it’s nothing like in 3S (even though I’ll still nag about it). I’m simply referring to feeling as though I’m at advantage in a match (which is never the case unless the other person I’m playing just outright sucks at the game). Just because you know the match up doesn’t mean you’re at advantage in said match-up. I’ve beaten competent Bisons, Blankas, Dudleys, etc. However, just because I’ve beaten them doesn’t mean I feel I’m at advantage during the match. At BEST I’ve felt certain match-ups were even. However, it the match-up didn’t feel even, it felt like I was at disadvantage.

Q: Seeing that Bison and Dudley are rush-down characters, would the disadvantage be that you can’t turtle with Koto? Im still trying to understand if she can semi-turtle.
So, slight trouble with Bison now. Fukiage and all that against Headstomps/attempted cross ups works amazingly well, although I miss the axe kick follow up sometimes. After shutting down a lot of Bison’s options and keeping a life lead, I run into a small problem of dealing with c.lk and lk scissors when I get stuck in a corner. Suggestions for getting out of this or any decent way of beating Bison’s c.lk?
well after he does his lk’s then scissors, if expect another set of lk’s i do ex karakusa after the scissors and it ussually catches him. its not 100% buts its saved my ass a few times.
Basically. It’s like a Makoto mirror. Whoever can be all over the other persons shit and put their combos together better is going to win. She can’t play the defense game so against those kinds of characters you just need to be all over them as much as possible.
In general I play pretty conservatively and safely. With Makoto I just have to throw caution to the wind and go for the throat to have any success. Just because karakusa is weaker than in 3S doesn’t mean she can’t put the pressure on. She just can’t rely on getting that grab to combo to grab to combo to grab etc… anymore which definitely changes things.
vs THAWK - stay away, play in and out with target combo2(fw.MK-HK) cuz its safe on block hit. jumping FP him out of the air if you’re close enough and you can see it coming(they will set up a Codor dive), Fukagi is usable but risky. Try not to use st.FP its the most unsafe thing she can do(hit or block). watch out for "codor spire ->360grab setup. punish C Spire with st MP or grab if block(QUICKLY). neutral jump HK is a good wall, beats dive 90% of the time. DO NOT USE hayate unless: blocked C.Dive punish with mpHayate, EXHayate here and there surprise em as they’re trying to move in, EXhayate is kinda…kinda safe on block so GTFO afterward, please pay attention to which Ultra he’s Using!!! His U2 is as painfull as U1, play accordingly. Its a tag fight, ALWAYS more than 50 seconds a round for me. 5-5 IMO.
Zangief Stay away. play in and out with target combo2(fw.MK-HK). Fukagi is dangerous, too risky, for AA use st MP(time it well, trades are no good), neutral j.HK, forward or back j.FP, cr.HK…do all, dont be predictable in punishing jump ins. Dont be fancy, punish blocked Green hands with Throw, st MP stuff it too but risky stuff it is. Lariat, block and sweep, if they move back while Lariating then, cr.HK or st.MP. lariat beats Ultra1 dont mash it out. If get knocked down, first you laugh at yourself, then calm down, see if he fucks up the timing in his jumping crosses, then jump back FP. If he’s on top of it, block the knee or splash and guess your way out. please pay attention to which Ultra he’s Using!!! His U2 is as painful as U1, play accordingly. Gief is tougher then THawk IMO, because of his Wake-up game, again a long fight, but not Makoto’s worst nightmare.
Chun Li: is a whore, my worst match-Up so far(next to Rufus and Rose). I’ve recently been beating more of them, so successful things i do. DONT Back away from this fight, She’s not guile, in fact i think her Wall is worst then Guile’s. get in her face, St MP stuffs most of her normals, so basically i’ve been Dashing - st MP right out of it, Target Combo2(its not perfect but…)and freestyle from there, if she neutral jumps, i’ll neutral jump after her or Fugaki that ass. AI AxKick is cool but You Better Hit or make her block cuz you’re not safe on landing, which another reason i dont wanna play the fireball game with her.

Also to note against Chun, at any time she does her cross up spinny flip kick thing(the not Hasan Shu one, I forget the name), you can LP Fukiage it. It takes a bit of prediction but it’s very punishable if you can react to it.
Fukiage is an amazing tool to set up for 300 dmg. We really should probably start compiling a section of what it can be used against in an effective manner.
Arguably, Dan is actually pretty decent if someone knows how to use him in this one. Dan Knee beats alot of stuff, and his taunts interrupt damn near everything if done with the right timing. Just a note.
