Off Topic… That is a VERY nice pic of Makoto you have there buddy
You can meaty Honda without getting hit by the Buttslam, it takes good timing though. (EX) Ochio isn’t invincible, by the way, if he does that he’s either stupid or it was a read.
If you can make him lose charge for headbutt by crossing over him do a meaty cr.mk, the buttslam wont hit one the way up and you can os fwd dash and then punish a light buttslam or os lp fukiage and that will catch him on the way up.
I think in AE2011 you can do EX oroshi > fwd dash > empty jump over then cr.mk, it wont be last frame meaty but it’ll serve it’s purpose. You can also do this in 2012.
In AE2012 you can do backthrow > fwd jump attack > cr.mk which is perfectly meaty.
I agree with this, do you have a full size picture?
I should have done some training before posting too quick about Ochio, it’s not that bad!
I really hope dashing throw/c.lk karakusa will whiff less on him in 2012 (damn PC patch!)
After a lab session, I will use s.mp c.mk much more for zoning, I won’t use c.mp except to punish
Nice
Yep, here’s the link:
I think that the drawing render better on small picture though
Cool OS to beat goukens ex demon flip, not sure if anyones been doing this, initially i tried to get os fuki to work but the flip is too invincible.
back throw > safe jump ~8 > 214st.mk
No flip = st.mk
Flip = Jump +mk.tsurugi
He can air parry immediately if he knows its coming. but i think it leaves him negative or even, kind of hard to test by myself.
Is the timing tight on the jump? Seems like it’d be tough to OS jump while blocking EX Tatsu. Does the EX Flip cross Makoto up? If so, there must be something with 11+LP, like j.HK, s.MP, 11+LK+LP (hit-confirm) xx LP/EX Hayate.
You can’t block it or its really hard to block.
Ex flip will cross up makoto if they use dive kick but not if leave it at neutral(sweep).
I’ll try yours out because this ones only useful after they learn you safe jump set up.
Heres how ive been trying to cover that:
Back throw> forward jump, meaty cMK, OS sMP/cHP/MP Fuki
-if cMK hits, sMP combos, finish combo
-if cMK Blocked, sMP is frame tight so continue block string
-If cMK whiffs, it’s due to backdash or demon. SMP will not come out so:
—if backdash, sweep
—if Demon, Fuki
xx loses to counter
xx sometimes loses to EX Tatsu (don’t know why it whiffs sometimes)
I think it blocks ultra and beats ERRRRTHANG else. Is been working pretty decent for me… IF I remember to Fuki LMAO
I could see the ex tatsu hitting that c.mk setup in the corner but not mid screen. If so that is weird. Call me old fashioned but I just stick with oroshi on his wake up :s on a side note anyone who knows the makoto mirror pretty well wanna add me on Xbox and grind me out? I’m panda bonanzaa
Abel has a “Blocknado” like Makoto’s Blockakusa with s.MK up close. Highly situational, as its close range version needs the proximity of a jab and it’s block only (unlike our Hitakusa <3), but you might start seeing some Abels hit-confirming with j.MK, s.MK xx (MP CoD on hit, delayed LP TT on block).
Well the only thing bad about that is that Oroshi misses EX Flip and you could be in a world of hurt if you mistime the meaty. But when he has no ex or doesn’t really use EX Flip then yeah, Oroshi is awesome against him.
Man, I have been having alot of trouble against Dictators. is the match-up in DICKtator’s favor?
Does anyone know whether Sakura is plus or minus after a shoryuken/ex shoryuken fadc? To answer your question I think it’s a pretty even match up. His kick pressure isn’t as solid as it seems considering lk scissor is 0 on block. Stick out a hk after the second or third scissor. The biggest hurdle for me is dealing with his wake up… He has so many options it kills our game lol
Hey V-Ryu / Mossad Man,
I’m still having plenty trouble with the Bison match-up (well, with any Bison who seems decent enough with their BnB’s and cross-up Psycho Crushers). Despite having read that st.HK beats his options I’m still having trouble applying the technology.
I was wondering if you had any videos of the practical applications of the move, as I can never seem to time it correctly. For instance, what does it specifically stuff, and what are my blockstring options? If you have any matches you recommend me check out, that would be fairly useful too.
Also i believe his Stomp beats mk/hk tsurugi in air, or am I once again mis-timing the move?
By the way, do you have any links that can help me with my kara-karasura? I imagine theres a good way to learn it but I can’t seem to find one!
She’s -1 after HP DP FADC forward. Her EX DP is weird, if she FADCs during the second phase of hits she gains more frame advantage on hit, but I don’t know how that translates to block advantage. If I had to guess, I’d say she’s universally -1 on her DP FADCs.
Ugh so that means she’s pretty much safe against makoto when she does it. The only options I’m seeing are either f.lp (leads to little) or ex karakusa which even then is a little risky :s thanks robo
Backthrow beats everything she can do after FADC except an EX DP (or LOL Ultra), backdash, or jump, and of course she can grab to tech. It’s a 2F grab punish if she tries attacking, since throw wins if done on the same frame as an attack.
The big thing to watch out for is her FA, a la Zangief’s EX GH FA games.
Here’s a match I played last night http://www.twitch.tv/shadowloohq/b/307289066 (at about 1:08:30) against my areas top Bison player (out of about 5,000,000 of them), I think I made great use of s.hk in the match.
Any thoughts on the Ryu matchup in 2012? I watched the Daigo vs Haitani FT3 for Topanga and while Daigo was able to keep a fairly simple gameplan, Haitani had to play almost random at times to be able to get anything going… The extra damage on his fireball + return to norm on c.mk looks to make it extremely hard to get in. Seems like other than raw damage output Ryu has every advantage in this match up,
After a blocked scissors kick it will stuff just about anything outside of Ultra. sometimes for a trade in your favor, but you only have, like 1 frame to input the s.HK. I usually plink it.
no… Stomp wins. if he meets you in the air, use jMP and and dash under. If he’s not going to meet you just land and fuki if you have time, if not, focus dash through the first stop and either FA3 or Fuki if he tries the punch after or EX Hayate if he just goes back to the other side.
nah man just practie lol. Its tough. you just have to keep at it. As long as you know how to do it, just keep practicing the timing. that’s all it is.
Plus. It was Daigo lol. Thing about Daigo is he doesn’t min mashing DP during block strings. Saw that a lot in the match. Most other ryus are a little more cautious, especially against Makoto. And Haitani was close to winning that.
I really don’t have trouble with the matchup. But honestly, i’ve seen a lot more E. Ryu than regular ryu since 2012 dropped, and he’s faily simle to destroy so far. So I dont know. I hear he’s a lot stronger but i just dont see anything different that patience can’t snuff out.
