dash canceling is cool and all, but do not use it too much. anytime u cancel u still have to recover, if u abuse that shit, then u run the risk of getting hit with something, or even worse, messing up the cancel and getting your hayate blocked. best time to do it is when you see that a hayate link will not connect, if u got the eyes and hands ull be quick enough to react. if u cancel it, try to dash in for a kusa or a regular throw. if u want to try and force something, cancel in front of their face, but do it sparingly, because u run the risk of getting hit long range. (dudly fierce owns my face)
for those who dont know, EX Hayate has instant recovery, with a push back included, and block stun for your opponent to recover, therefore making a blocked EX Hayate a setup in itself. Many people will try to punish, they will lose. follow up with a crouching strong > hayate. or if your feeling the risk, go for the super(the only super SA2 since u are using an EX).
ive taken the dashing c.short>SA1 for granted. anytime ive found myself in a pinch, if im quick enough and execute correctly, i will catch an opponent waiting for me to make the first move, only hes not quick enough to react. dash under is good as well, but more seeable.
EX Axe kicks make good high/low game. c. watever>EX Axe’s, only if you can super jump straight into it, the kicks are low, if it hits u reset them, if blocked, sets up to dash in for kusa or basic throw.
s.strong x2 is another really good karakara setup.
You can also stand right next to your opponent, and do j.mk, axe kick, karakara. It’s pretty sketchy because the axe kick has to hit just right (pretty low), but you’ll get used to seeing the right spacing.
I may have posted this already but i dont want to look throught all the pages…
For SA2… After you do Karakusa hcb+k, then fierce into sa2 then Dash foward, then do Fukiage Dp+p.
My question is do you dash forward again and do Dp+p or just walk foward.
i always miss the 2nd punch. help out plz. need the stun combo learned quickly
i would just superjump and fierce them… maybe ex fukiage again???
and for the sa1 linked of hayate…
hit them with hayate, make the qcfx2 motion and then tap lp mp and hp really fast… like ur mashing once with blanka in cvs2… dont press them on the same time, all a bit later
omg i was just practicing makoto and got that lp/lk reset, then dash under if ur fast enough and do ur shit… well its a mixup, and thats what makoto is about
karakusa -> s.fierce -> EX hayate -> jab Hayate against 12. Anyone done this? Somewhat hard when you start out…just gotta get the timing down…which I’m sure everyone here has.
after watching a recent japanese vid in which makoto using SAII (abare), he performs the usual karakusa–>Fierce–>SAII
but afterwards
jump axe kick–>dash? fukiage–> jumping fierce
is the axe kick late or early?
is the fukiage karacancelled or dash?
