Few small makoto questions. sa2 combo after the reverse strong dp. do you jc straight up or at an angle for the fierce to connect?

Also when hit them with sa2 with thier backs to the corner and they dizzy part way through the super whats her most damaging combo? best i have got was SA2 jump cancel to fierce then jump up fierce again.

as for the other, i dunno, i usally just finish them off with some hayates if they are in the corner. im sure you could probably reset them or something but im not sure.

Yeah you can jump straight up to hit with the fierce. If they have their back to the corner you should just do the other standard followup of jump cancel, forward axe kick, hayate, hayate. It does the best damage stun or no stun.

umm u dont do a fierce after SA2 =/ this is the SA2 combo everyone does :wink:

karakusa(hcb+k), fierce xx SA2, sjcancel, forward ace (qcb+mk), strong hayate (qcf+mp)

if u stunned them during that sa2 combo, and u dont want to ruin another bar on them, ur u simply dont have on, dash next to them and do this:

jump straight up, roundhouse, land, fierce, EX hayate (qcf+2p)

u have to land the roundhouse real late for everyhting to combo:)

edit: seems like streak beat me to it :wink: its pretty hard to get 2 hayates in a row though =/ only did once on chunli by accident… does the second hayate needs to be HP or something? or mp?

It depends on the situation, midscreen it usualy has to be fierce, in the corner I usually do strong or jab if i’m really close.

Hayate fakes

ok I have been messing around with hayate fakes and set ups, but I think I am probably missing something here.

Anyone got any good set ups etc with a hayate fake (outside of 'kusa -> fp -> hayate fake -> dash in -> 'kusa)?

Also, is lp -> lk a link or a combo? it seems awfully difficult to land consistantly… When is the best time to use that? the jab always seems to get parried on wake up… i dunno.

i would try to fake when u do c.lk xx fake hayate, karakusa or whatever

and lp, lk, mk is a link, but u need to press it just at the right times, and do dash in, lp, lk xx hayate/overhead chop

lp -> lk-> mk?? ive never seen that.

coz its useless, lp->lk xx hayate is much better, and gives you mixup possibilities

i feel like im playing marvel or some shit when i have to use the fakes. so many buttons and directions to press. :confused:

but yeah i guess that is a pretty useless link.

Hey whats up, just started playing Mak and reading through Arlieth’s FAQ has helped alot so far but i had a question, i noticed yesterday while in training mode against Alex that i could dash through his sprite while he was getting up(i had the CPU on quick rise) well i was wondering what other characters she could dash through on wake up.I’ll test it when i get home from school, i was up pretty late last night playing so i didnt get to test all the characters.

hehe nice find, but everyone knows it :wink: if someone techrolls quick rise u can dash thru it, thats why u always gotta watch out when a ken player throws u, he could easily dash through you

Hayate fakes

lol thats crazy as hell, ive been practicing that alot lately as well
hayate fakes(i call it dash canceling), has the potential of drawing out early attacks, or freezing someone. if someone thinks a hayate is coming, there just gonna block because it can be punished like none other. you can dash in and throw, or even karakusa if your quick enough.

if you have really good eyes. you can see when your c.strong > hayate cancel wont connect, so you can just cancel the hayate midway. sometimes ill cancel it even when i do hit hte c.strong, just to be safe.

oh yea in case u didnt know, hayate canceling counts as a 2 in 1. on wakeup, you can fool alot of people by doing hayate, canceling, straight into super(SA1 or SA2). on wakeup, i will either dash cancel into a super, or dash cancel, backdash into EX chop. other good mixups include. s.short > hayate cancel > EX chop/karakusa.

PS: anytime i want to link attacks ill do strong>short>hayate. and its rare i try anything like that.
