How many meals does VIP catering cover? Is it just dinner?

Vip is basicly all you can eat from 11am - 8pm Fri-Sun.
plans to improve the VIP room? last time it was kinda bunk, big empty room with nothing going on. i’m down for paying for a better experience but it does have to be better. i don’t think anyone i talked to last year was happy with their vip purchase. catering is a big plus this year!
when does registration open? can i register online and pay at the venue?
Why is the cover fee $50? That sounds far too high for just a per-person charge to cover rental of the room in the community center. Does it include meals or drinks or something else to justify this price point?
Last year’s $40 was pretty expensive for early registration. Is the price going to go up $10 every year?
i don’t think CanadaCup’s goal is to break even and their goal probably isn’t to make a $100 profit either. Speaking on my own behalf, I wouldnt work for free either so this is a very fair price considering the time and money they have to spend to hold an event of this magnitude.
Generally, majors have venue fees of $25-35 pre-reg. If it were $40 like last year, I would have signed up without question. But now that the venue fee is the same price as Evo’s, what can I expect from the quality of the tournament? Are there going to be a bunch of booths, any panels/guest speakers and a better stream than vesper arcade? Not to mention, the venue seems quite questionable…
I’m not trying to accuse CCG staff of anything. I just want to know why it’s getting more and more expensive, and how that compares to other majors that have been able to keep it cheap for years.
Vip section is going to have about 3-4 setups this year for all the pros to play and for guys to get their mms on with them.
Part of the entry fees go to bringing teams down to Canada Cup 2012 and travel accommodations for Team Canada. This year is a 3 day event instead of a 2 day. Canada cup has never came close to profiting at an event, if we don’t at least break even this year I don’t think there’s going to be a next year.
fair enough. there will be booths like previous years. I know for sure there will be a MadCatz booth. yup this year i heard that it’s going to be a very reputable person who will be streaming the event (name withheld for now). personally, im really excited for this venue. it’s huge and should be something very different in terms of what we’re used to.
agreed, it is a bit more expensive than other tournaments but there’s only 3 tournaments in the world that have this amount of international competitors, EVO, Shadowloo Showdown, and CanadaCup.
