I’m from the US. I have verizon and unlimited text. I’m going to Calgary. Do i get charged for sending/receiving txt to US number? Do i get charged for sending/receiving text to canadian number? thanks

I think you should check with your service provider.
Even with unlimited texting a lot of carriers will charge you roaming txt rates since you’re not using verizon’s network. When I travel I have to pay a little more to get international texting going on.

Really rooting for Daniel to do well for team Korea! One of the nicest guys in the Calgary SF4 scene.
That said, I still think Japan are the heavy favorites, especially with no Poongko on Korea. USA1, USA2, and Southeast Asia are pretty strong but Japan is just stacked with 5 of the best players in the world. Beating all of them in a row is just going to be really hard. They also have one of the best character lineups, with tons of top tiers and no weaknesses in terms of matchups. Akuma, Fei, and Adon (Mago’s char?) ensure that they will probably have at least 6-4 advantage on any character that beats them when they send up their next player. Sagat is solid and on paper can beat Justin/Ricky’s Rufus (I know they’re great at the matchup, but still) and a strong Yun is still pretty under-represented outside of Japan.
Also, any word on if Wolfkrone is coming this year? Has anyone seen him in a while? He was the star of last year’s 5 on 5 and it’d seem weird if he wasn’t on the team.
Re: cell phone plans, when Canadians go down to the US and we plan on using a lot of data/texting, we can usually buy a special plan for a few days which doesn’t charge us roaming and gives us enough text/data to get by. It’s probably also available on US networks for when they travel internationally. I really suggest you Americans look into that before coming, because roaming rates will kill you.
