[MAJOR] CANADA CUP 2012 | Oct 26-28 | Calgary AB | International 5-on-5 $5,000 Pot

Question:

Anyone not actually going to Canada Cup interested in starting a “Barcraft” for this event?

ever hear of a satellite?

I agree. Team Canada and Canada 2 should be the best players in Canada overall, not just the top player in each region. Asking to be on Team Canada 2 by default since you won your qualifier in Winnipeg/Regina doesn’t show your confidence in being the best players. If you think you deserve spot and can outperform the killers from Vancouver, Calgary, MTL and Toronto, prove it.

Also, could the qualifiers be a 2-out-of-3 format? I don’t want someone to win just because he won both rounds doing wakeup ultra. It should be the players who are the most consistent in winning, otherwise it leaves too much up to chance.

seeya there clim, i hear you’re a monster! lookin forward to playin you!

One week ya’ll!

GONE GET THESE WEBS

The 5v5 is one game format. I rather have a person that can win 1 game than a person that can win 2/3 just because thats what the whole tournament is about. So try and download your opponent in 1 match.

IF Snafoo does indeed go to CC (which seems unlikely due to costs being up there) I am willing to bet pretty much any amount on him vs any akuma from out west.

FYI, Heero and Snafoo probably play each other the most amongst anyone else in mtl they both know each others style (also Snafoo played like ass vs him at T13), and akuma is one of Snafoos favorite matchups

While this logic would make sense considering the teams format the problem is the previous hard qualifiers for Team Canada #1 were a 2/3 format creating an inconsistency in the tourney style selection process.

I don’t have any say but it really should be at least 2/3. This is about the best possible teams for Canada, not the most random

no, thats not correct at all shane. it would be typid to have the regional prequalifiers in bo1 format because, besides being qualis for this, they were also just local tournies where a bo1 format makes no sense. having the quali full if prequali winners being bo1 format makes sense because the 5v5 is bo1 format. your complaint is pretty irrelevant if you take everything into consideration

good luck in the tournament! but i hope my boy raiden bodies you and eveyrone else

I cant wait to be put into the brackets this year against raiden and lose to him again, pretty sure that would be 3 years in a row!

Raiden, the bane of my tournaments

1k on snafoo vs any Asskuma from out west

Two problems with this.

1 - What I said is 100% correct.
2 - It’s not a complaint.

I don’t think you understand what I mean. If the reason for 1 game format is looking for the best players in a 1 game format then your qualifiers would naturally be 1 game format throughout, not 2/3 for some and 1 game for others.

I’m not saying one format is superior to another or advocating anything. I am just pointing out the undeniable inconsistency between the selection tournies.

Your wish is my command!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Kazunoko vs thebest round 1 plz. Mirror match of the century

I’m the underdog for sure. It’s how I like it tho. It’s been a lot of Edmonton vs everyone else lately in the fgc.

and i’m saying it wouldn’t make sense to have any of the regional qualifiers be Bo1 format, but it DOES make sense to have the thursday tourney Bo1 format because the 5v5 is. i’m saying i doubt anyone else would “complain” (poor choice of words) about the inconsistency. it’s unavoidable at a point between the regionals and the 5v5 itself, whether it happens at the 5v5 itself or at the quali beforehand doesn’t matter, cuz there’s no way every regional woulda agreed to run their tourney Bo1 format.

Yes you already said that. The viability of running a 2/3 format qualifier is not for me or you to say. It is what it is.

You mean beyond the multiple people in this thread?

Which character is each participant in the round-robin locked with?

I’m using Chun.
