Lapchi doesn’t agree with me that EAST COAST CANADA VS WEST CANADA 5on5 umvc3 doesn’t deserve to be a streamed exhibition during the event
Does anyone else agree with me that E.C.C vs W.C.C 5v5 UMVC3 <insert $$$ here> will be one of the hypest things to go down at the tournament?
I feel like Canada Cup is almost obligated to prove to the world which coast is the best coast in Canada.
If you agree. Please post reasons as to why it should go down and why it would get viewers because lets face it, we need stream monsters.
An all Canada exhibition is a great way to lose people watching on stream.
Honestly, the world doesnt care which coast is better in Canada. They care about Justin Wong, Marlinepie, Combofiend, FChamp etc etc.
Is it going to be a 5v5 MM, or do you want Lap Chi to put up the prize money? Because Lap Chi is already spending a fortune… his wallet deserves a break.
If it’s 5v5 MM, then sure it’s a good idea. I remember at Shadowloo Showdown they showed 5v5 Melbourne vs Sydney Street Fighter, just for pride, no money involved.
A lot of people on stream were complaining, but personally I enjoyed it. Regional 5v5 are always hype, and that Australian 5v5 had good matches and it was very close at the end.
So if it’s 5v5 MM, sure I hope it happens, but I don’t think Lap Chi should have to pay for it.
I’m all for Canada and all but a Canadian only exhibition thing would no doubt lose viewers, but mayhaps we could put it on during slower hours instead of prime time, maybe put american commentators on to help mitigate the viewer loss?
Level of play has to rise across the country imo (could totally just be an “on-stream” thing, but regardless, I think it’s true), but it’d lose viewers since majority of stream monsters don’t care for Canadian play, hahaha. We’ve got good players, and we need to start delivering on it for others/viewers to start caring.
Put it in a salty suite and get dat recording imo. Also, is Winnipeg considered east or west? As a centrally located party, I could be interested, but
The 5v5 should absolutely be put on stream but def. not the main stream. Lap Chi said something about having 2 or 3 steams. If that is still a go, put it on 3rd stream or maybe 2nd.
Unless there’s some serious downtime or this 5v5 is for a “Winner gets to represent Canada for the Marvel 5v5 Team Tournament” and it’s played on one of the earlier days, I’d be weary of putting it on the main stream.
Being with the amount of international talent expected to be at Canada Cup would be sad to see that So-and-so came from oh so far away and instead of him or them being in an exhibition we’re watching Canadian players go at it.
No1 wants to see east coasts best such as joker rdk quandizzle and nick cam smash pad faggot bee and a bunch of west coast nobodies for 500$ a head? =.(
Unfortunately, Canada Cup does not advertise mms because its illegal and no main stream sponsors would ever sponsor us. As a exhibition we would lose viewers since the whole world doesn’t want to tune in to locals Canadians playing each other. This would have to happen perhaps on the Thurs with the Team Canada qualifiers or in the salty suite.
The skill gap between US and Canada isn’t as big as people think IMO. Canada vs. whatever would be more interesting to watch for a broader audience and if we play to our potential, it should be pretty competitive.
