Madcatz te2 xbox one not working

Hello guys, I friend of mine just sent me his TE2 to check it. At first, it was up-down inputs not working so I switched the cable for one I used with my PS3 SE (which has the same inputs)
After closing the stick, it just stopped working. Now the buttons dont light up when you plug the stick to the console and it’s not recognized. The panel doesnt light up either

How can I check that I didnt screw the PCB?
Thanks in advance

Regards

Take clear pictures of the inside, in particular the wiring on/around the PCB area.
If the console won’t recognize the stick, start off by trying to replace the USB cable.

make sure the breakaway is secure, and make sure you have the USB cable pushed all the way into the stick and on the correct way

  1. Have you tried putting in the original JLF cable back in? Sure, Up/Down might still not work, but does the rest of the stick work?

  2. If the stick still doesn’t work when you put the original joystick harness, then it’s probably something with your USB cable. Like @Vicko said, make sure it’s securely connected.

It’s not a JLF issue anymore. I’ve tested the stick alone and works fine. It’s the PCB that doesn’t get enough power (seems to be that)

How can I do that? should I replace it with something else?

I know it’s not a JLF issue.
My point is, you swapped something, and it stopped working. Swap it back to see if it still works with the previous configuration, in case there’s something (no matter how farfetched it is) wrong with the new part you swapped in.

Problem in this case is that the TE2 uses those Mad Catz Pro-cables, and as far as I know, those aren’t easy to get ahold of at the moment unless you have access to another TE2, or the older Mad Catz MLG Pro Controllers. You can try to bypass that as a troubleshooting measure by cutting and soldering a separate USB cable directly to the PCB. I remember people mentioning they’ve had those Pro-cables stupidly break of them due to the screw-in connector; I’ve personally never had any issues with it on my MLG Pro Controller (though I actually don’t use that thing much).

Got it, just put everything back together, and still no signal (PC doesnt recognize stick, same for xbox one)

I’ll try to get one of these cables from a friend and test with his. If that doesn’t fix the problem, I’ll go and use extra usb directly to back of pcb
Will keep you posted man, thanks in advance
