I have a TE stick that barely rotates anymore and it makes it very difficult to play.
At first, I put silicone spray on the actuator which fixed it temporarily, but then it dried over time and made it worse. I used 90 proof alcohol to clean that stuff off which helped a little bit, but it has gone to being sticky again.
I have taken it apart many times to clean it, but nothing feels that sticky.
Any advice? I am barely able to play with it as it is.
The grease shouldn’t gunk up; maybe you’re using the wrong kind? Can you show us what you’re using?
Shin-Etsu is what Sanwa uses at the factory, so you really can’t get better than that.
Best way at this point is to take apart the lever, clean the thing out entirely, then reapply some Shin-Etsu.
