Iād been thinking of trying to find a stick for my friendās kids to use thatās decent but not nice enough to be worried about them breaking. This could fit the bill.
any news on a decent fight pad yet? iām tempted to buy a hori fighting commander 4 but iām worried that i will get annoyed by the adjustable dpad getting loose.
Iām impressed - it turns out it is possible to make a stick uglier than a TE2.
Thereās a definite niche for a new SE-equivalent, though, so this might well fill a need - depends on the weight and the parts (otherwise thereās the Venom).
Yeah, I really do - mainly after seeing one in the āfleshā, rather than in photos. Not a fan of the ābox with bits sticking outā look at all - but Iām delighted that others think it looks great, of course. As they say, thatās why restaurants have menus.
In fairness there are much worse-looking sticks, itās true - that Qanba prototype makes the TE2 look like Anne Hathaway!
Yeah you can argue over the fact that itāll be easter to travel with, but when was i ever talking about size? That stick can definitely have 8 buttons without altering the size on the stick. Just looking at the stick you can see that the buttons are far apart also. Thatās the only problem with the stick is the buttons.
You know that the 6 button 8 button thing is a joke within the SRK TT community right? Some of you just take it a bit more seriously when we mention it. :-/
If you think you can comfortably fit 8 buttons on this same base size you need more experience with arcade sticks.
Also making the buttons closer together goes against any standard button layout.
Sorry, that was an indirect comment about it being travel size to keep on topic, wasnāt directed at you. And Frankās right about the joke, just giving you guff.
Iām really curious about the price point, if itās under $70, is easy enough to swap in good buttons and has a halfway decent stick in it, I would totally pick one up and leave it in the trunk of my car for impromptu sessions.
Well you can obviously observe my profile and tell that I donāt use these fourms that often, all it takes is a quick click bud. Also, how the f*ck would I know if itās a joke if itās āwithinā the āSRK TT communityā. Oh gee I totally would of guessed that first try. Youāre basically hoping on my ass over an inside joke, thatās how dumb this is.
Also Iām saying that the buttons on this fightstick exclusively look far apart guy.
Also close buttons donāt go against any type of nonexastant standard that youāve stated. Hitbox arcade is a prime example. I think its time you learned something about fight sticks brother.
Capcom can also change the design of the stick if they feel its necessary. On the second picture it clearly states that its subject to change
I have no idea where all this aggro nonsense is coming from. Somebody made a joke, you reacted strongly, the joke was explained, and you seem to be taking that as some sort of internet flexing. To paraphrase yourself, itās a forum for Christās sake.
For what itās worth, I donāt think Frank made up standard spacing and button layouts. There are a handful that are standard across a lot of different arcade cabinets and sticks (one of those handful being a hitbox, which actually keeps the same amount of distance between the buttons as other sticks), with the few that are different being referred to differently. Nobodyās saying itās impossible to change, but since a lot of people like consistency, youāll see standard spacing on most mass market sticks that arenāt catering to a specific niche. And you may not know this since youāve said you donāt keep up with the forums at all, but Frank has learned a pretty ridiculous amount about sticks. There are several great knowledge resources here compiled by him, and he recently set up a workshop to teach people about modding.
On the actual subject of this stickās button spacing, it looks to be the same as other sticks, but they may appear to be further apart because of how small the base is.
