MadCatZ PS3 TE FightStick: PC - Xp- vista- win7 32-64bit (read 1st post)

It says my arcade stick is malfunctioning and doesn’t read it as anything but and unknown device…wtf?

sucks, I’m stuck on Win7 64 bit :frowning: My TE and SE are both recognized but aren’t sending any inputs. My laptop unfortunately doesn’t have an expresscard slot, so I have no idea what to do.

I ordered this from Newegg as well and, just like The Game mario316, my PS3 TE stick now works on my computer. I’m using Windows 7 64bit as well with an intel motherboard. Quick plug in, installed the drivers automatically, and then I plugged my stick into the Rosewill card. All inputs work perfectly and I have no further problems.

Try that Rosewill Adapter and hopefully, it should make yours work too. It’s a way cheaper alternative to buying another Arcade Stick.

I went ahead and bought it like over a month ago. The thing has been working great. Easy to install and yes it is plug and play. I am also using Windows 7 64 bit.

I’m having a weird issue with my macbook pro. I have 2 OS: the mac one and windows 7 64 bit. When I plug in my ps3 se stick to the mac os, the mac recognizes the stick and it works fine. I also tried pressing the turbo and then testing a button and the lights did turn on. But when I switch over to windows 7 and test it there, the stick is recognized but the buttons don’t work and when testing the turbo, the lights did not turn on.

I don’t understand what the issue is and it doesn’t make sense why it won’t work on both os. Any help would be great; thanks in advance.

Bump. I need help on the above…

So, I’m one of the unlucky ones stuck with the wrong usb/chipset/thingamawhatsit and using a laptop and trying to get my PS3 stick working. I can’t yank out the side of my laptop and stuff new stuff in, I’ve tried the ps3sixaxis_en driver thing, I’ve tried MotionInJoy, both returned with nothing. Am I effectively sunk?
And, for what it’s worth, I was thinking of getting my stick dual-modded so it’d be Xbox and Ps3 compatible, I hear Xbox sticks have more luck with computers so would getting the stick dual modded aid in connecting to the PC?

The sticks might not be compatible with some newer Intel boards. My stick used to work on my old ASUS P5K-V Intel G33 Chipset, but since I upgraded to my GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 which is an Intel Z68 Chipset, it no longer works. It’s identified as the “PC USB Wired Stick 8188”, but like the others no buttons register in the test screen. Running Windows 7 x64.

Check under Device Manager to see if it’s UHCI or OHCI.

There is only “Enhanced Host Controller” and no “Universal Host Controller”, if that’s what you were looking for.

Should answer the question. Looks like Intel switched away from UHCI on that board.

If this helps anyone the wwe allstars SE has PCB that works with PC.

There has to be a bypass, because I somehow managed to get my stick to work, I don’t know how though. I recently bought a PS3 TE-S anticipating ahead of time that it wouldn’t work so I bought a USB expansion card with a VIA chipset, but my TE-S got here today, and my USB card is still shipping all the way from China…

Anyway, I was fiddling around with seeing if I could get it to work, and somehow, I managed to get it to work ONCE (after a good hour of messing around), after installing and then uninstalling MotionInJoy because it did not recognize the arcade stick, I unplugged my iPod USB cable and plugged my TE-S into the same USB port, at which point I checked in the game controllers part of Control Panel and it was detected, but not working. I browsed through the forums after disconnecting the stick, I saw a post saying some people could only get the stick to work if the stick was set to LS, and I had it set to DP for Dpad. I plugged it in while still under the Dpad option, at which point I pulled up the game controllers panel, so I could have it in front of me when I switched to LS. I tapped the stick and instantly noticed there was a response from the Joy Hat section, then I pressed all the buttons and all of 'em lit up while still on Dpad mode. Then I switched to LS, and the box with the + in it started moving. Then I switched to RS, and it gave me physical numbers right next to the box, confirming movement.

I was stoked, to say the least, I opened up vanilla SF4, did all the Bison trials through once, then PM’d my friend on Steam that I got my stick to work on PC by some magical circumstance despite not having changed ANYTHING. To confirm it worked, I unplugged it and plugged it back in.

Turns out it was a one hit wonder, I can’t get it to work and haven’t gotten it to work since, but I’m happy because that means I didn’t waste my money on a USB expansion card for no reason xD I’m not sure what I did, all I know is it worked once.

For you laptop users out there, I just received this:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16839328039

it’s cheap and it works perfectly! Make sure to plug the stick into the USB 3.0 slot or else you’ll spend 40 min. cursing the tech gods for hating your stick.

the VIA chipset pci card works for me as well. unfortunately every time i shut down the pc i get a bluescreen now.
i’m on windows 7 64bit

any ideas?

WOW. Just got my PCI card today and I’m mad as hell right now.

This VERY OBVIOUSLY is a VIA chipset card. I plugged it in, installed fine (after waiting 11 days for it to finally arrive) turns out they sent me a card with an NEC chipset. That’s what I get for buying cheap chinese crap…

I’ve decided that it would be FAR cheaper to simply switch to a USB wireless solution and to purchase one of the PCI adapters than to buy an entirely new TE stick… The cost of SSIV: AE with the addition of a new TE just wouldn’t be worth it without first trying what seems to be a good fix in this thread.

I’m also purchasing the "Rosewill 4+1 VIA USB 2.0 PCI Adapter Model RC-103" from amazon. So wish me luck!

After having problems with my built in USB and the stick I bought a card a couple of weeks ago with the VIA VT6212L and now it all works grat without any extra drivers or anything. Thanks for the fix!

Ultra U12-40668 USB 2.0 PCI Express x1 Expansion Card - 4 External Ports, 1 Internal Port, 480 Mbps

Hey guys, I have a question. So I bought this Round 1 TE PS3 stick from this guy off craigslist, 100$ and the condition of it is almost near brand new, he used it only a few times and then sold it, said he preferred the pad. Once I got the stick I found out you need to have a VIA chipset with usb 1.1 compatibility, so I went ahead and bought this one due to reviews of people saying it fixed the fight stick issue : http://www.amazon.com/Port-USB-2-0-Desktop-Card/dp/B001L4HXVI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I got it today, plugged it in my computer, and plugged my fight stick into it. It STILL doesn’t work. I have windows 7 64 bit, and when I go to video game controls setup in windows, it doesnt detect the buttons or the joystick, but I do get PC USB Wired stick 8838 in Street fighter 4 controller settings. I’m really frustrated right now because I was looking forward to using this stick.
Any advice on what I can try? Also, I have attached a picture to show you how I’ve plugged in the pci card, as you can see in the picture attached the small chip of the pci card doesnt fit properly into the pci slot of my motherboard, my pci slot in my motherboards chip is too big, however my pc still detects the PCI card and devices are working on it,except the fight stick. I’m wondering if this is why its not working.
Note: Other devices such as external hard drive and my phone adapter are working fine while I plug them into this PCI card, so I dont know why the fight stick isnt working. I have yet to test it on a PS3 as I don’t have one, but I will go to a friends house and test it if there is no luck in this thread.
Thanks a lot

I know I have a VIA USB card somewhere. Somehow everything in my PC is a via chipset EXCEPT for the USB controller. I have a few open PCI slots so no big deal, but this is just stupid. No custom driver workarounds yet?

I am pleased with the TE-S(standard SSFIV TE) I just purchased though.
