Madcatz in financial troubles?

Their other gaming peripherals are still garbage. Because I wanted to try another one because the te stick was so damn good. But then got disappointed. I bought something from them in the early 2000s and it broke within 3 weeks.

I feel like if they want to stay in business they have to try to make up for making shoddy stuff.

Yeah that’s my main thing. I will buy their arcade sticks and absolutely nothing else they produce. I remember playing Tony Hawk on a Mad Catz third party controller, and the analog stick fell down, lost all connections, and got stuck. Got it unstuck, and the controller wouldnt register any movements from it. That was within one month of the purchase.

I have had two FREQ5 headsets (gave one to a friend) from MCZ and they are great. Wasn’t a fan of one of their mice though, mostly due to feel and design.

I’ve had the same issue with Razer, no clue how their sticks are but I’ve had one 360 controller and one mouse. Take good care of my stuff but each one just decided to stop working, same with the replacements I bought.

Won’t get anything else from them again.

I bought my Soul Edition stick almost 3 years ago and it still works flawlessly.
At this rate I’ll never have to buy a new stick again, so how they gonna make money?

They need to start telling all the newer players that Arcade Sticks make them better at fighting games. That’s how.

I mean how many people grew up learning fighting games in arcades? That’s the only market arcade sticks really cater to.

Pretty much everyone who grew up in mid 90’s. I know when I was able to finally go to the mall by myself where the arcade was I’d be there every Friday, Saturday and Sunday practicing and playing. Playing an arcade game like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombst with a console controller never made sense to me. It never came off as genuine to me.

I hope so. The we can start calling Arcade Sticks “Arcade Sticks” again. Not whatever the fuck fight sticks are supposed to be.

It’s a model they produce. They call what they make “FightSticks”, but it falls under the universal category of “Arcade Stick” in the controller market. Mad Catz going under wont change the fact that a bunch of retards think the two terms are interchangeable.

Also all those years of producing shitty third party replacement controllers that break down in a month is catching up with them.

Pretty sure that was already the case before they started making arcade sticks, since those sticks were pretty much their first legit product since their conception as a company.

And even then the initial wave of the first SE/TE sticks were pieces of shit.

I still have my first wave TE stick and it works perfectly. I still see a lot of people using them in tournaments too!

However you may feel about Madcatz, they did bring affordable sticks of pretty good quality to the market in an accessible way. They also spent a lot of time sponsoring community events. Regardless of how you feel about the company, both of these were positive things for the scene.

It’s not that anyone wants madcatz to go out of business but it’s obvious that consumer trust is a huge problem. Winning back the consumers buying their other gaming items would help substantially. I only buy sticks from them because I believe that anything else I buy from them will self destruct.

But they do not.
I got a 200 percent worse player execution-wise by picking up an arcade stick.
If you grew up on pad it makes absolutely 0 sense buying an arcade stick unless you’re living in a wealthy country and just want to do it for the hell of it.
