09’ers: Year of the Extra Chromosomes.
i seriously doubt daigo could beat you with a broken controller.
but then again… he is daigo…
you are one angry person you know that?
all i have to say is that a broken controller is STILL a controller.
broken = low quality.
working = high quality
a broken controller will make you a worst player, thus your equipment matters.
you guys can go ahead and call me whatever you want and continue to brag about how you can beat me with gamestop brand shit, i dont care. you guys will probably never play me anyways so what does it matter?
Aside from the arguing, I wanna know if the guy bitched out the store or not and got a quality stick we all deserve to have.
Really?
Name calling does not add value to the point you are trying to get across.
Better shoes will not make you a faster runner.
But on the day of the race, you’ll probably want to come with a fresh pair.
…is what I think both sides are saying.
You’re pretty much an 09’er yourself!
Almost Chicken, almost. What you just described is the situation between Sleeve and his opposing friends…
My view of “better” is different. “Better” to me doesn’t mean you have to be better than the person next to you. “Better” simply means progression in one’s skills (being better today than what I was yesterday).
If better means having to be better than your opponents then of course a quality stick doesn’t make a noob better than the expert.
But the opposite is also true. Practice doesn’t make the noob better than the expert. No matter how much I play basketball, I doubt I will be better than Jordan. No matter how much I play Street Fighter, I doubt I will be better than Daigo.
If “better” meant being better today than I was yesterday, then it fits both statements well. As explained before the SANWA parts have made me a better player through letting me execute the movements that I wasn’t able to before. Also in executing the movements, I’ve learned new combos. And through practice I’ve become better at strategies, still no expert or great player, nevertheless better than I was yesterday. :woot:
better running shoes does make you a better runner
better then dress shoes would at least…
so why does jordan wear custom shoes?
Almost all basketball players are tall and their feet size are out of this world. They can’t just go into a Nike store and pull off one that’s sized for the average people. Therefore custom shoes will fit the bill.
i went and examined it and the pcb for the busted one is from this madcatz ps2 controller
http://www.gamesman.co.nz/images/product_boxshots/10386-lg.jpg
its also hooked up to an adapter that looks like this

i wouldnt say its broken. all directions and buttons work, they just have lag
i think of it more like a badly tuned guitar, still works for the most part, just got a few kinks to it.
Ah a thread I feel comfortable with.
I bought a TE stick a few months ago (May).
Only few days passed until big issues showed up and they are still unresolved and randomly occurs :
- the stick just stop functionning stuck on the last input on the stick (down down forward/back maybe)
- the roundhouse and extra black button doesn’t respond anymore
- plugging the mic results of one of the 2 problems mentionned up there
All of these randomly occurs. Don’t know what can cause this. I’ve payed 189 for this (speculation time) and I still have a cheap product. I ordered it straight from Amazon.
It’s not time to rant so does anyone have a clue on what could cause this or what should I do ?
I would try to exchange it.
http://store.gameshark.net/faqs.htm
It definitely sounds like a defective stick, and it’s got a two year warranty (http://store.gameshark.net/help.htm), so I’d take advantage of it.
Yeah the NCIX store is gonna give me a full refund on the stick no more exchanges for me. Which i would have prefered. I was in Vegas the last week and found that i did get a fairly decent price for the TE stick here in Vancouver. Its the exactly the same price as they were selling it at fry’s it sucks to be Canadian sometimes.LOL
So i check out the Real Arcade Pro. 3-SA on amazon, but they do not ship into canada-sucks again- the only place that i found that would ship here -arcadeshock.com- wants to charge extra $65 for the shipping. Anyone know of a place in Canada or US that sells them and dont charge an arm and a leg for shipping ? they dont have them on Amazon.ca
If not i might just return this on to the store and pick up another one at their different location -hopefully in better condition- I really like the TE stick and the sanwa parts on it, but not willing to pay for something that is not mint straight out of the box.
I also got an email back from Madcatz customers service this is there explain for some of the defects the TE
-
The scratches you are referring to on the white decos are signature scratches that are present on all of them, produced by the machine that creates these. This ensures that the part came out of our factories.
-
The joystick component, and in fact, most of the components within our TE fightstick, are produced by Sanwa Denshi?s factories, not ours. Any defect/issues stemming from your preference should be forwarded to them.
-
Could you please take a picture of the black casing, and how it is damaged? I do not fully understand the welding issue you are referring to.
-
The chip may have occurred during shipping, something that our factories are not responsible for.
For 3) and 4), we can send you replacement parts depending on the extent of the damage.
i just love the first one…LOL they intentionally deface their product to make sure that it form their factory
the more i scope out ebay the more i feel i got a great deal on my TE stick just found a guy trying to sell the qanba line of stick for $169US.LOL the ps3 wired version i like $54 at Dealsextreme. what a joke
