Shoot my TE is showing some problems of late too. My punches are kicks sometimes and vice versa… but today I got a win cause of it. Fake hadouken (with punch button coming out as kick) and then a quick dragon punch to seal the deal. Not too bad…
If you hear squeaks, just swap it out with another SANWA from Aki shop. If you got PCB problems, just get a toodles board. If you own an xbox then pad hack a 360 controller and still get a toodles multi console board.
Got cosmetic issues? Just settle it with a arthong with new PIC. It would be a shame to hang around this forum and not customize.
Even if you bought it new like mine, with bit of wear and tear you knew it was going out soon and needed refine your repair skills. LoL
yeah was looking into cutom building my own stick later on. Never did anything like that so gonna be awhile till i get confident enough to pull that off. Pick up the TE stick cause I was sick of not being able to pull off link combo and all with the other sticks i had. Nope not the case even with an expensive stick i suck just as much as before!LOL
There is somewhat of a truth to getting expensive controller makes you a little better. Before sanwa parts, I couldn’t even do a fireball. With Sanwa parts, not only can I do special moves, but pull them out consistently. Like slagcoin mentions the japanese jewel of arcade parts were really made for precision.
If you got a SANWA, its more expensive than the $30 stick. Won’t make you the ultimate warrior of fighting games but better controls will cultivate you into a better player than you were before. :woot:
By the way, I suck too… you see that tag under my name? registered noob? yea that…
I think what networking meant is that better equipment doesn’t make you a better player in the absolute sense. But it certainly helps if you can’t hit corners on a piece of crap stick but you hit them easily on a JLF or such.
Give a veteran artist a a lump of coal and cardboard and they will be still be able to make a nice drawing.
Give a someone who just started a $400 set of painting supplies, they probably draw something really fugly.
If I had to play with one of those $30 sticks against a noob, and the stick isn’t broken, I think I’d still be winning plenty of matches using a character who doesn’t rely on tough execution with fundamentals.
