Roger Sterling is lol—probably my favorite character on the show simply because he’s consistently laugh-out-loud funny. Pete might do all the work, but Roger is the one the clients really want to hang out with.
If he only he’s wasn’t a racist bigot…

i don’t really see roger as a bigot. blackface wasn’t seen as a racist thing back then and he’s generally pretty neutral on race issues…with the exception of the japanese due to his time in the war.
That’s true, with the open racism against Japs, the blackface thing, the constant derision of Jews, and the general overall misogyny that seems out of place for even the 60’s…Roger’s a pretty chill dude.
I actually think those are the reasons he’s like my favourite character. That’s why I watch the show, the racism.
I like how earlier in the show, in the first couple of seasons, Harry was the most likeable guy in the office - the only one that wasn’t chasing tail all the time because he was married. And now Pete and LA Noire are married and the good guys, and everyone hates Harry. God, he’s so useless, it’s great.
Apparently that is a fat suit…? Fat suit technology is amazing, I couldn’t tell at all. Bless you for pioneering fat suit technology Eddie Murphy. Apparently it was the same stuff they used for Peggy’s pregnancy in Season 1? Oh those lady actors, all getting pregnant.
Am I the only one who thought Betty actually looked kind of… you know… not bad?
Good ep. I kept waiting for Don to shag one of those chicks and he never did. Could it be that he’s actually changed? Or maybe it’s the squick factor of banging someone who’s at just about the precise median between the age of his daughter and the age of his wife.*
(*And is it just me, or are they dropping hints that this is becoming an issue?)
I might have overlooked that line. I kept waiting for Roger to say something hilarious/racist/hilariously racist to get everyone to forget how progressively more useless he’s becoming to the company.
I never said he was a klansman, but he has shown enough bigotry for me to define him as such.
I’m sure most African Americans at the time weren’t fond of blackface/ minstrel acts and their connotations.
Regardless, that doesn’t mean he’s not a likeable character with some appreciable qualities, unlike Pete… (bait)
I kinda like grown up Don the most this season so far. Fat Betty is crackin me up too as is super depressed Harry.

I like grown up Don as well… thing is, for how long will he maintain that maturity? I seriously hope he doesn’t cheat on his affable and devoted wife; the same wife he told all his secrets.
Peggy STRIPPIN roger of cash. i loved it. that scene was great, roger is such an awesome character.
don was having some real swag issues this time. i really hope we see him back in full awesome form this season, but somehow i get the feeling that won’t happen.

Couldn’t stop laughing at the fact that Roger just carries massive amounts of cash randomly in his pants pockets. That’s just how it’s done. $400 in the mid 60’s is like…what, two or three grand today?
Imagine just wanting around with three grand in your front pocket, no wallet, no money clip, just straight bills. I’d have an erection all day.
I remember talking to some old dude at my job the other day saying his rent back then was 52 bucks a month. Now imagine having 400 bucks back then, at hand!
Makes you realize how rich those Kennedy and Rockerfeller types were back in the day.
