sooo ive never seen mad men before…is this recommended srk viewing?
Absolutely it is, but do yourself a favor and go back and watch the first 3 season. Also, you have to be patient. It’s not afast paced show, it takes commitment, but in the end, it’s sooo worth it.
About tonight’s ep - awesome stuff once again. I can’t say enough how amazed I am by the writing on this show. I love that Don was back in true Draper form tonight. Beyond being a psycho batty bitch, January Jones portrays Betty so perfectly. I was actually reminded tonight why she is so important to the show…
at 10 though? sure girls are hitting puberty earlier and earlier nowadays but back in the 60s?
the age range for normal puberty has always been from 9 and up.
These things they present to you is the change that’s going on in American society at the time and what becomes the norm for us today but they were so controversial at the time which it makes it even more intriguing. You also gotta understand where Rodger is coming from, he fought in the war and The Japanese war relentless so he has this hatred of a people that all they wanted to do is blow your head off and he’s lost a lot of close friends so that really doesn’t go away ever. Don was in full form in this episode regaining his swag and playing chess with the “competition”. I don’t know but the show definitely becomes more interesting when Betty also is heavily involved cuz of the issues they present to us. Joan was looking sexy as ever and that blonde chick with the fake wedding ring is also fine, Pete is self absorbed as usual but made good points.
Watching the ep. I just saw Roger walk into the meeting with the Japanese guys. He really lost his shit.
One of my favorite shows. I want to see The Town just to see Jon Ham fuck shit up:rofl:
Don is the realest.
That scene with Peggy riding the bike around the fake studio was just awesome to me for some reason.
Yeah, I loved that, too.
You can’t rule it out, but I would be inclined to blame the divorce, if anything. Her life was kind of turned upside-down, and she’s not exactly sure how to deal with stuff. I’ve heard of young kids doing it when there’s a lot of trouble in the home in order to feel better, because your coping mechanisms are lacking at that stage of development. Though, ironically, those were kids younger than 10.
This being SRK, I’m surprised there haven’t been any comments about Sally Draper being hot.
Sally draper making the little DAT ASS face was a highlight of my week.
Also Pete’s 1980’s heel wrestler challenge of Roger and Peggy driving in circles. I also agree that that was super hilarious. Japanese dude cracking jokes on Joanies giant breasts was lolz too. Best show on TV till Eastbound and Down comes back.
Is anyone else liking Rubicon?
OK, I’m actually watching this show now, working on getting caught up. Currently on the 7th episode of the 1st season.
Don Draper is the fucking truth, btw. I loved that scene where he owned that beatnik dude’s shit.
Beatnik: "How do you sleep at night?"
Draper: “On a bed made out of money.”
Mad Men wins best drama series for the third year in a row!
wow at this episode.
Don’s self destruction has just hit the turbo boosters…
First episode worth watching again this season. Lot of good subtle stuff. Draper conned his way into the building!
Damn don has a drinking problem waking up with different girls he barely knows, Peggy kills it yet again and lmao at Pete this guy man. I just wanna fuck the shit out of Joan, y’all notice how full of ambition Don was in the beginning and Roger is just Roger. Now it’s Don who’s like that and now this young inexperienced kid who just won’t go away has a job all cuz draper took his idea.
Hahah, why is this show so fucking amazing.
Pete is soooo good at being a douchebag when he has the power, it’s incredible. Watching Cosgrove’s smile fade away was one of the highlights of the season… coupled with Pete leaning back and raising his hands.
After seeing Emmy win, I thinkin of watching Seasons 1 & 2.
