I got my TE2 in the mail today and tried testing it on Killer Instinct on my Xbox, everything went dandy.
I plugged it in to my PC (Windows 10, 64 Bit), and Fightcade doesn’t recognize it. The stick lights up and everything. I checked the device manager and, “Xbox Gaming Device” shows up.
Is there drivers I need to download or something? Checking the Madcatz website, it just directs me to a dead domain or something of the sorts. What’d I mess up on?
The Xbox X TE2 isn’t a proper XBox X controller (blame Microsoft on that one). Madcatz is out of business so you get nothing from them
You need to Reinstall your TE2 as a Xbox One controller manually (by picking your device from a list) and not let Windows auto install
With latest Windows 10 update, the stick is basically dead. Windows 7, you can still install the XB360 driver in and the stick gets picked up for use that way, but on Windows 10, the stick lights up, registers as “Fight Stick” under Device Manager, and that’s it. Even picking drivers manually, or reinstalling drivers to detect it as Xbox One controller doesn’t work anymore. I’d love to be wrong on this, coz if I’m wrong, I’ll get a fully functional stick again on PC. I have the same fight stick and it’s currently gathering dust. At the moment, the stick is only functional on my Xbox One playing KI. Not willing to spend another 100 dollars to turn it into a universal fight stick via UFB PCB, and currently contemplating Brook Converter route.
So it just natively picks up as a XInput device, as opposed to an actual Xbox/Xbone device? May have to use Joy2Key (which is a pain in the ass) to get it going with your games that don’t natively support XInput…KI comes to mind.
