Did anyone else get their Madcatz Messenger/Stick Bag?
Got mine today and I’m a little disappointed. The material is a little thin/cheap and the strap is as well. I might pick up a more sturdy/padded replacement strap on Amazon soon.
I sort of thought that about the messenger bag when I saw it in the pictures and videos. I really hope the backpack is nicer. 
I was going to post pics and stuff when I get my backpack on Tuesday if no one else had by then.
Got my madcatz backpack in yesterday. Material and everything is really nice. TE round 1 is a really tight fit but it fits. The shoulder strap is nice and wide and has decent padding for long use. Overall I’d give it a 9/10.
So if its a really tight fit then a TE-S would fit nicely? How tight is the joystick hole? Think you could get a 45mm balltop in the hole?
After buying the Messenger Bag and seeing the Madcatz video at EVO, I think the intention was to sell the higher price product (obviously). The video has a long segment for the backpack and the Messenger Bag is just sort of an afterthought. Also (after checking) the strap on the Messenger back isn’t detachable, so my only option at this point is to get a Messenger Bag Strap Pad now, so it’s a little more comfortable. Still shitty if the strap ever breaks.
A friend of mine who got to see the two bags early said the Messenger Bag was ass and that the backpack was the only one worth it. I sort of just shrugged it off, but now I wish I would have listened to him.
The TE-S would fit better but would still be a tight fit IMO since its more that the height of the stick is making it a tight fit. Also the joystick hole is only made for 30mm, as the hole is a perfect fit and does not stretch for bigger balltops. But I do not own a 45mm balltop so don’t take my words for 100% confirmation.
Cool cool. Thanks for the info. Can’t wait to get mine on Tuesday! Oh well… guess my carry stick will just have to have a 35mm ball top. Unless I mod the backpack, or use a link. 
No problem bro, I meant 35mm btw lol, the bag is awesome and I would definitely use it to carry other things than just a fightstick.
I got my backpack and I really like it. Luckily I use a SE so i had room for the stick plus a book and something else in the main compartment. It looks like a TE would fit fine too though. The entire top part of the bag (where the hole is for the joystick) is entirely padding, which is why it may seem like a tighter fit
I wish the little phone compartment was alittle wider. I gotta squeeze my phone in there alittle but it still fits. The two outer pockets have a suprising amount of space too. The material itself is pretty good too. Overall id give it 9/10…one point off just cause the phone/mp3 pocket on the strap itself could be slightly wider
Edit: my phone is the EVO, which is actually one of the bigger phones out there. Normal sized smartphones should fit without much of a squeeze at all, now that I think about it
Got mine in today. I was going to write up a whole review on it and take a bunch of pics of it but don’t think I will. I feel like I will come off too negatively if I write up a huge review with a shit ton of pictures and bash it most of the time. Mmmmm… overall I’d give it a 6/10. I am probably biased because I’m used to nicer backpacks that I have for carrying my laptop and for hiking. Just erks me though, that those backpacks were not that much more expensive but imo leaps and bounds better in terms of quality. Even though I feel it’s only a 6/10, it’s still probably the best bag for carrying a TE. In terms of how secure it holds a stick and how protective it is I would give it a 9/10. Mad Catz did a good job in that area. Overall though I’d give it a 6/10 because I feel at the price point of $50 it is lacking, and that not much effort was put into designing these backpacks. For $50 it should have more and better design features.
Aside from holding the stick securely, and a few extra pockets, its correct that it doesnt have that many more features
But since I bought it just for that sole purpose, and not really caring for additional features like another bottle holder net or bigger pockets, I aint even mad

I’m guess I’m just a little disappointed is all. I just want extra features cause of the price tag. Nicer zippers, something cooler than plain black zipper heads and plain clasps, a nicer strap with more padding and material that grips, more padding on the part that is against your back and material that grips, dividers in the pockets to house stuff like little screw drivers and Allen wrenches. You know, the bells and whistles you get when you buy a bag at this price. They really didn’t try very hard, which would be fine if it cost less.
Meh, I like my messenger bag. Nice and light and the stick fits snugly.
