MAD CATZ - Combat FightStick: Ultimate Edition Replacement Panel for TE FightSticks!

I was thinking about getting one of these panels, adding buttons and a stick to it along with quick disconnects for a 2 minute or less panel swap. The main reason I would do this instead of buying a whole new stick is I have dual modded my TE. Probably looking at a cost of around $80-85 give or take (I’m not terrible concerned about the cost)

I am confident I can set up my stick with quick disconnects using a db connector or 2 RJ45s, but was wondering about the tutorial mentioned earlier in the thread. I searched but could not find it. Does anyone have the link?

So after playing the demo on PS3, how do you even play this game with 6 buttons, the demo uses all 8. Is there a way to activate x-ray and swap characters using button combos?

I am actually going to be finishing my tutorial on how to do this when i recieve my female db 15s.
You can see it started here
http://shoryuken.com/f177/tutorial-how-wire-te-db-15-swappable-custom-panels-264081/
I have the wires in the TE wired to a male db15, I just have to wire my replacement panels to a db15, but this will also work with the madcatz panels.

Hmm… I think I’m going to go the RJ45 route. I prefer not to solder :slight_smile:

do you have to bend the tabs on the buttons to get it to fit into the stick?

I guess you missed my earlier post about this very issue. For MK9 on the Fightstick, you can do the R1 throw using Front Punch and Front Kick pressed together, and you can trigger the XRay by hitting Front Kick, Block, Back Kick together. You can also do the L2 flip stance by hitting both kicks. And the old “Run” button is now used for Tag Team.

The only button that may have tab clearance issues is the middle Block button. All the other buttons line up with the original TE layout. I did bend the tabs on that button to be safe.

Can someone post what the button layout is for xbox? From the pics it looks like
low punch is A
high punch is X
low kick is B
high kick is Y
block is RT
run is LB?

Also my friend did the RJ45 quick disconnect mod I was talking about and posted a tutorial here: http://shoryuken.com/f177/tutorial-te-quick-panel-swap-mod-rj45s-268485/#post10392870

… And my co-worker pulls through with the most BALLIN’ Combat FightStick: Ultimate Edition mod ever… GOLD bezel!?

I had to bend the tabs on mine for the block button. It kept rising above the panel if I didn’t do that. Then again, my wiring is all over the place under the hood so if you kept it neat, you might not experience a problem.

Question: why didn’t MadCatz call it the “Kombat FightStick”? :stuck_out_tongue:

Been to busy using my stick playing the MK early release demo for plus members…

but figured I’d take a break and post mine up.

Picked up a close out MvC Stick for like $70
Using all “Rollie” buttons, a Seimitsu Smoke Bubble Top, and gold/yellow Slurpee straw shaft cover.

Impressions? What do you think?

Where did you get the MvC stick for $70?!? Gamestop still had it last week for $130.

You are correct with your button placements.

X____Y
RT
A____B
LB____________

However the new game uses new mechanics that are:
X=Front Punch
Y=Back Punch
A=Front Kick
B=Back Kick
RT=Block
LB=TAG

Probably to avoid copyright issues with Warner Brothers.

It was a open box scratch and dent deal.

Right place, right time :slight_smile:

If you mean the replacement panel? Good construction and I like the layout and colors.

If you mean the game? Very happy! Finally the MK that I loved back in the day.

If you mean the Rollie buttons? Super happy! I have been very happy with the feel and responsiveness of these buttons.

Nice!

Wow; this just blew my mind. Dammit.
