For anti-air I usually use L analyze cube or L psionic blast and they’ve both been working pretty well for me. f+H looks so slow so for me it’s hard to land it on reaction specially against fast trijumpers and that’s all my friends and people around norcal play. And yeah I’d be afraid too if it was like a wolverine or magneto if it whifs or it’s too slow. that’s like 1/2 my life is gone. But let me know how it goes.

I’m not a very good player, but I also have love the underated characters, so I would like to see some good MODOK players in action. If anyone wanna get a few matches on PSN, I’m in for it. =)
I’m from Brazil, but MvC3 seems to have a pretty decent net code, in the sense that I can usually fight with people from the US with little lag. This would be unthinkable in SSF4.
My current teams:
A - C. Viper, Hulk, Sentinel
B - Chris, Thor, Haggar
C - Amaterasu, Magneto, MODOK
Eh I thought abut using f+H simply because the Brady Guide said to use it when I finally got my hands on one. Meh, doesn’t work. Was hoping for some wierd hitbox action or somethin I didn’t know about.
Plus I’m pretty sure that MODOK’s standing and crouching L is a better anti-air normal to begin with…

Anyone figured out what the modified AEX combos, corner and midscreen, are (for the odd hurtbox characters) specifically Storm and Ammy?
Random question. Does Modok have a green barrier like Ammy green projectile reflector or is it just the small and big orange barrier?

I never really played marvel 3 but I think i just found my dreamteam. MODOK/ spidey / joe. How hard is it to learn modok. I like unpopular and hard characters (makoto :D) but I never really played marvel 3. Probaly because of x-factor. My marvel 3 level is kinda low, so which things do I have to focus on with modok? And what do you guys think about this team? Joe’s bombs can trap the opponent between the cubes/goo and the bomb etc.
Dude modok takes a little time to get used to but once you’re there it’s very satisfying. That team sounds awesome bro honestly just play the teams that make you happy. The viewtiful joe trap sounds awesome. I don’t know much about spiderman but the shield I think is useful for everybody in some way. Remember that you don’t always have to hide behind the shield, you could actually step into it and use it’s invincibility. So maybe with spiderman call shield assist, step into it, and try to go for web throws or something.
Right now I’m messing around with skrull/modok and using his air dash down H and call shield assist so he lands in the shield making him safe. But yeah, keep me posted on how your team works out
What are some effective rushdown tactics for M.O.D.O.K.? i think IAD S is 1 possibility but I may be wrong.

Drawing 2 characters from this list, who would make the best team with MODOK? My best character is Doom and I like using him as an anchor, second best is Thor then Magneto, Tron, then Wesker.
I’ve been running Mag, MODOK, Wesker and really like how the team has been working.
Doom/MODOK could be really good IMO.
With MODOK IAD is absolutely necessary. Also using flight mode cancels to change directory and kill the lag on j.:l: Besides that I’d say you really need to learn his air throw followups because once you do put on pressure there will be ample tech traps to followup to run. Air to air try j.:h: and versus grounded j.:l: The corner is your friend so doing is c.:h:IAD::s: Loop is essential to keep the opponent in an favored position.
Remember if you slime and they tech into the corner, you can setup your own unblockables, not to mention do some nasty resets.

Best advice I’ve seen for MODOK. You simply can’t play him online. The smallest bit of lag will ruin his long combos, IAD’s, Killer Illumination on defense, etc.

Ive been watching some cube combos, do the different cubes have different hitstuns? Like in the video above the were able to do j.M j.Hcube many many times in a row. Maybe im just doing it too slow.
^ It HAS to be after an aerial exchange. You’ll never get that many cubes in an air combo otherwise.
I think you’re right though, I do find it much easier to link after a point-blank H-Cube than say, an L-Cube.
As for teams… I think Mags/Modok could be quite scary? Magneto’s air combos often bring people to the corner, and from there you can coin-flip for insta-kill (aerial exchange into Modok is always death in the corner), or hypergrav into DHC trick if you don’t want to risk the coin-flip.
Hey Nos great combos dude. Keep it up. I finally started learning the corner aex combos and I think I got em down ok. I was wondering, do you think you could post the notation for the aex combo midscreen? The one where you’re comboing magneto?
