M.Bison General Thread: Come here prepared to fight a madman, and instead you will find a GOD!

Yeah, Omega normal PC and omega EX PC are both boss. Omega normal PC is all I really ever wanted for SF4 Bison. If they just gave him that, I would have been cool. Something strong, that darts out fast. They could have even nerfed EX PC further and I wouldn’t have minded. But w/e. Anyway fingers crossed to get normal PC.

But yeah like @ExposedD said, I can deal with not having it provided everything else is boss. And it’s not like we don’t have it at all. But I wish it was like it was in Alpha where it could be used as an anti air. I used to catch people the moment the stepped into the air in Alpha with that because air block only worked at certain points. You could super PC them on jump startup.

I think he won’t have a normal PC because they fear he might have a bit too mobility, with the SKs, improved teleports, faster Head Stomps, Devil’s Reverse may return, and launch properties on the slide (maybe it’s just a counterhit property), i’d say he has this department pretty much covered.

Another possibilty is that he gains access to the regular PC when he has V-Trigger actived, but there’s no evidence of this. I’d say that the biggest evidence that he has no regular PC is that he clearly screams Psycho Crusher during his “Revenge Art” inplying that the move is limited to it. There’s also the discussion if he will still execute the PC if the initial hit of the Revenge doesn’t hit.

So what does he lose without having a regular psycho crusher? From what limited knowledge I have on Bison, I think it was basically used as a damaging escape reversal, a crossup attack on wakeup, and his damage combo ender.

It will be interesting to see how he fights now without those options.

This Bison is clearly inspired by the Alpha and MvC era Bison, so I doubt we are getting a PC otherwise they would’ve showcased it already. I think the most important question regarding PC that needs to be answered now is if the Final Psycho Crusher will still go into Psycho Crusher animation even if the first part doesn’t connect to anything. I really hope it does.

Something tells me we’re not getting Devil’s Reverse and maybe even Psycho Warp either.

So besides questions relating to Final Psycho Crusher, I’d like E3 to answer a few other questions:

1- Is he still mostly a charge character and did he adopt more motions?
2- Clear any confusion about his V-trigger and tell us exactly what it is.
3- What is his super? Maybe it is a Super Psycho Crusher
4- Headstomp or Death Flutter? If former, is there a follow up? If latter, is there a Punch Button follow up?
5- Psycho Reflect or Psycho Shot?

Personally, I’m fine with the idea of having no regular PC. If one move simply doesn’t fit within the mechanics of the game, then it’s better to just scrap it, instead of trying to find some gimmicky way to give it some utility like they did with SF4.

I think the problem with SF4 in general is that they were too limited by the idea of making characters as faithful to the originals as possible, so Bison NEEDED to have his PC because that’s what everyone remembers from SF2, and it ended up a terrible move that was almost always strictly worse than SK. Same with skulldiver and devil’s reverse.

With SFV, they seem way more open to changes and redesigns, so they might finally be free to design their characters in the best way possible without worrying about fidelty too much. In return, this also makes people happy because they see some freshness to the franchise.

Here’s the song featured in our MASTER’S TRAILER:

PS was great for wakeup mixups IMO. There were several timings with each PS strength to hit your opponent from behind or form the front upon wakeup. Whether this had been the intended use for it, I don’t know. Either way, I did use a lot but mostly just for that, otherwise it was always SK I was using instead. EX PS was a pretty good GTFO move when cornered too

I think not having a PC, and maybe even a DR, would truly justify us getting a Skull diver that actually works now. Also, hopefully his super crusher is comboable and/or an AA now.

From how it look i think and hope both

Except that isn’t originally from SFxT, it was first used in Bison’s Lvl 3 Knee Press Nightmare in Capcom vs SNK.

Wrong. It was first used in Bison’s Knee Press Nightmare in Street Fighter Ex Plus Alpha.

God I never think of those games, yeah you right.

What i’m saying is that as 3D animation watching both gifs they probably straight took the animation done for SFxT

Imagine it without camera change and it’s the same

There’s nothing wrong if they did.

Never said that

If anything considering the animations recycle Tekken did during years, i’m actually impressed about how much work they did from 4 to V

This issue was even more serious in Blanka and Zangief’s case. They did nothing for Non-EX Rainbow Ball and Running Bear Grab. Bison’s specials cripple him because of this too. Not only Psycho Crusher needed a gimmick, but Headpress, Skull Diver and Devil Reverse also have serious usefulness issues.

Yeah, Bison needs moves that work this time, not half ass crap, forcing us to play with footsies alone.

Does that pyscho sphere (what ever it is) absorb projetiles?

It looks like it absorbed Chun’s in the screencap Ono posted on twitter.

Wait, so is the sphere the reflect move? Similar to Rose’ reflect where it can also absorb for meter?
