Urgh, took me close to an hour in training mode to get that fluid enough. Thanks for the tips!

Guys I know Bipson dash is 22 frames, but I want to know from which frame he is invincible. I want to test some options since I think its properties are not used enough.

8-10 fully invincible; 11-14 strike and projectile invincible

Is Bison actually good in this game?
He seems pretty amazing

It’s pretty amazing only against people that have little grasp of the game, but against advanced players you have to be really solid with him since he is really poor in defense.
It’s a character that is very easy to pick up and wreck people with, but quite hard to master and play seriously.

I have a quick question I’m hoping someone can help me with.

Bison’s V-Trigger is explained in a bunch of places and they all say that he can cancel specials into ex-specials without charge, but I found that I can do St.HP xx HP Blast without charge also.

Is this explained anywhere and are there any other non ex-specials that don’t need charge in certain situations?

Normal cancels don’t require charge in VT. But you have to charge normally if you don’t cancel.

You can do some shenanigans and dash cross over and quickly s.LP xx Blast xx EX-something for example.

People seem to be saying that meter is well spent on V-Reversals as Bison has poor defense, but V-Trigger is where the magic lies. Is it just the lack of a 3 frame normal that determines if defense is poor? What are other characters doing in situations where Bison would have to use V-Reversal?

Also I’ve seen it said that using V-Skill for anti-air is a bad idea, but it seems to beat most things if timed well. Is it only a bad idea because people will start empty jumping?

VTrigger has strong damage. But you can’t access it if you need to relieve pressure. If you’re already dominating someone in the round then yeah, you’re doing fine with it.

I feel like his normal mode needs a little more polishing. Bison didn’t get a lot of changes between B1 to release. Mostly nerfing cr.HP, some damage adjustments, enlarged hurt boxes and psycho blast losing a lot of coverage.

What’s the frame data after block jump attack? Is everyone the same? Specials are always plus? Thanks.

It all depends on the height you are when the normal is blocked. If you hit a jumping normal really deep. You’ll have more frame advantage than if you hit the jumping normal earlier.

Looking for some honest constructive criticism. For those who main Bis [or who are just good inV in general] please watch and let me know how I can become better. Thanks

Starting to learn bison myself

But there’s several places where bisons v reversal is useful. It’s generally pretty good to use it when you are getting pressured a lot.

However there are many moves that gives opponent advantage on block or the moves not punishable on block where v reversal beats it clean.

Example like nash’s jaguar kick or mikas fully charged drop kick

Other scenarios where v reversal is quite good night be during moves where the opponent likes to cancel into their own v trigger to make their move either safe or to give them a huge advantage. V reversal there usually stops their momentum.

Its quite tough for bison to decide whether or not to save everything for v trigger or use it for v reversal. Since bison v reversal is quite good in general since it knocks down and puts the opponent in a decent range for you to breath and maybe even start your offense.

On the other hand v trigger makes bisons options truly scary. I think if I have a lot of ex meters saving for v trigger might be better otherwise just stick with v reversal

What about v trigger you got any ideas?

6-13 fully invincible; 14-18 strike and projectile invincible

So is Bison’s ex head stomp to devil’s reverse away a safe way to escape wakeup pressure?

Nop.
Bison has no safe way to escape wake up pressure.

On the frame data it says ex headstomp is strike and throw invincible from frames 1-4. Wouldn’t this allow you to escape a wakeup throw or meaty attack.

If it is invincible, then the only question left is if using the devils reverse afterwards allows you to move far enough away so you don’t get punished.

It’s not throw invulnerable and its strike invulnerability is unreliable. Don’t count on it.
