First season was great especially the last 2 episodes. Season 2 episode 1 was some of the dumbest shit I have seen. I hope it gets better.
Luther Series 1&2 is as intelligent as the films Taken and From Paris With Love; that is, they’re not intelligent at all but they’re so fast paced and insane that you really don’t care. As grating as it sometimes is to watch Luther inevitably predict and outplay the villain of the week, it’s made up for by just how much these psychopaths actually get away with. Series 1 Ep 2 with the jarhead? It’s like watching a brutal game of Counter Strike. Series 1 Ep 5? Holy shit, that episode was depressing in how brutal it was. Series 2 actually tones the bleakness down a bit, up until the last couple of episodes where the dice killings are unrelenting and emotionless. Alice Morgan steals the whole damn show and its a shame her presence was short lived in favor of the little hooker girl. Also glad to see Ripley turning into White Luther Jr.
