Don’t know how I feel really. Excited about potential improvements to online and new characters. Scared about potential balance tweaks. Hopefully they’ll just buff a few people and not nerf the scrub killers. I’d rather they leave it alone and let the game grow, but I’ll wait and see what the additions are before I decide whether or not to get it. What annoyed me about SF4 series was the feeling of built in obsolescene, but I didn’t care cuz I never liked the games enough in the first place.

He didn’t give any real info, just cryptic message on his twitter in Japanese saying Capcom is working on a game upgrade for Marvel. Which is probably all he really knows. It might just be an educated guess after no news came out of captivate, but I kinda agree with it. The decision making people at Capcom probably aren’t the same ones from the nineties when they released so many arcade fighting games, and there’s no reason not to suspect they’d follow the same business model they did with SF4, or any fighting game that moves over 2 million copies in its first month.

I nearly didn’t get MvC3 because of the omission of Ken (why I never bought the first game in the series). I blame EA Sports for making this kind of business practice acceptable.
I’ll buy it if they put in Ken, Venom, Cable, and MM.

SFIV consol version was the 2nd version of that game though, there was time for polish inbetween the release of the Aracde version and the console version. Yes, there weren’t balance changes (if I recall correctly) for existing charecters, but the game was polished overall.
I don’t understand this kind of reasoning. If you’re looking at it from a content/value perspective, wouldn’t a $40 disc update clearly be the better choice? If we use every scrub’s favorite measuring stick (number of new characters @ $5 per character), they’d only have to add about 4-6 new characters for a disc update to be the better deal, since you can offload your old copy to make up some of the difference anyway. And that’s not counting any other additions or changes.
mmhm i dont see that happening if anything Ouroboros were known more for lockdown than chip which is why Clock added Dr.Doom in Marvel 2 for more chip and enough lockdown with rocks for stider to get another set of Ouroboros out
Capcom fighting game fans bitch about everything they do or don’t do ever and then buy every Capcom fighting game product ever, presumably so they can bitch about it some more. It’s amazing.

I’m really skeptical about this. Even though SSF4 came out a year after the console SF4, it was already in arcades for a while, so they had time to plan out and see how it goes. This game came out in Feb, if this is true, this kind of leak sounds like something that can hurt capcom’s “image” (you have to admit, these leaks run counter to the company’s planning and does throw a wrench in their schedule of hyping up releases).
So maybe it is something like a series of DLC we get over time, then say have a “complete” edition with all of it on a disc down the line (think of it like those expansions in Fallout or any other game that go DLC, then have a complete edition later). Because releasing a purely new edition for a game that is more niche than SSF4 and sold a lot less, it sounds like something unusual since Capcom is run by suits (according to Inafune at least).
Lupinko leaked the entire MvC3 roster back in September or October with 100% accuracy. Stated which characters would be the unlock-able ones and that Jill and Shuma would be DLC (even before both of them were announced as DLC). Everyone called him a troll back then (No cyclops or megaman? Lol dis guy is such a troll lulz. No way they wouldn’t put them in) and everyone will call him a troll now.
From what I remember he has leaked other various information too before that became the truth. Doesn’t mean this in particular is 100% true or anything but I believe he does have some sort of an inside source.
You know what? I bet the online will still be shit regardless. Unless a PC port will happen. I think part of the online problem (emphases on ‘part’) is the HUGE number of people, plus the amount of people on wireless connections.
@Vynce, you could play Ken & Gouki in MvC, but it “costs” you one bar of super to switch back from each character.
If there is a Uber MvC3, people will buy it.
