I’ve never been a fan of reporting rumors on the front page. But it’s not my job.
Can’t say I’m surprised.
And to be honest, I’m not even against the idea of it.
every capcom fighter from here on out will recieve an upgrade but not a direct sequel because that would cost more money to make
and we know capcom is all about getting dat paper…
not even sure I should buy SFxT when Super SFxT will come out a year later…
If this is true, I hope it’s at least DLC.
This will almost certainly be a disc release.
I like it that way, anyway, because any content over a certain size might as well be a disc release. I remember when people were defending hard media during the advent of digital commerce and all of a sudden people want everything downloadable. Affordable high-speed internet really shifted things.
To early to talk about tiers, but were talking about a whole new game? That was fast
So many negative nancys on this forum. If ya’ll hate it so much, why do you waste so much of your productive hours griping about it? I’m honestly stoked if this is true, cause I’d love to see a bunch of other characters no matter how stupidly unbalanced. But I also loved low-tier MvC2.
As for the whole ‘ZOMG WE’VE BEEN TRICKED’ thing, how is that true? You’re spending 60 bucks to get a years worth of playtime (if you want it). If you don’t, sell your game. But honestly that’s a pretty good amount of time, and no one is forcing you to buy the sequel regardless. You spend money, you got a product that you can’t possibly expect to be catered to your individual sensitive feelings. Other people like it, and if you don’t, looks like you made a bad call. At least you didn’t buy a car that broke down in a month, or (maybe this analogy will be better for those people still living in their mom’s basement) 600 dollars for the same PS3 that will be half priced later on. There’s a lot of more useful crap to gripe about than this.
I’m not saying I don’t find problems and/or things I don’t like about this game, but I enjoy playing it regardless. If some of those issues are resolved in a $40 sequel / upgrade / whatever and some new features are added, that’d be awesome and I hope it happens. It will make many, many people happy as this game is enjoying quite the tournament hype right now. For all of you people kicking and screaming like babies because you’re constantly getting ‘randomly’ bodied by ‘scrubs,’ take a deep breath. Turn your computer off. Go get some fresh air. Maybe invest in a less intense hobby. Knitting, perhaps?
don’t fool yourself. It’ll be 39.99 most likely, and will sell better than it should. That’s not something being said out of cockiness either, just from what tends to happen around here.
Pumping out the revision a year to a year and a half down the road isn’t that offbase for Capcom. Like I said, paid beta test.
It could conceivably, if a few very specific conditions are met.
They were labeled sequels. Would you feel better if we got MvC4 with MvC3’s stages, assets and characters instead of Hyper MvC3?
But hey, you could always go play Vampire Savior or Garou or 3s or whatever on GGPO! Those are fun.
I would love to (for your info, Vampire Savior and Super Turbo). Unfortunately, I think I fucked up when I tried opening my ports, and I can’t get a game going to save my life. Until I fix that, I have nothing.
Yeah, that does make sense, but on the other hand, is this really behavior one should be enabling? The idea of essentially charging people to test out your game, then releasing a rehashed and “correct” version a year later? Far more heinous than the on-disc DLC that most people like to piss a fit about.
As a standalone game, MvC3 might be worth 60 bucks, SMvC3 will probably be worth the value @ 40 bucks, even 60 bucks too… but essentially charging 100-120 dollars for the complete game seems a bit steep.
I do hope if this rumor pans out that we’ll be seeing an RE:Gold edition / SSF4AE release type scheme, rather than an SF4 vanilla type scheme where you pay 60 bucks to get the option to enable a couple filters on your characters.
3s and Garou are pretty fun tho. Not sure how you mess up opening your ports. Fix it, you’re missing out on amazing things.
Also for everyone in this thread: Go get killing floor or w/e on Steam so I can play portal 2 earlier. This is relevant to the topic because people are talking about abandoning poor li’l Marvel.
3s…meh…I don’t really feel it. I like it, but I still don’t have a character I really…you know, connect to and feel I should main. Garou, I’m just terrible at.
How do I mess up opening my ports? idk, but I wasn’t getting games before and I’m not getting them now, so I assume it’s because I messed up.
DLC please, your freaking engine (MT Framework) supports it anyway Capcom. Heck, do what you did with RE Gold and have it both as DLC and a disc release.
I do understand your point, although the way I see it I would rather pay 60 and be able to play for a year than wait that much longer to buy the updated version. Sure, it’s incomplete and no one is really satisfying. It’s a sequel people waited TEN YEARS for. Expectations are high, they tried to make something that old fans and new would enjoy. I think they succeeded, although they could do better. A year worth of people playing / figuring out what they like / don’t like might make for a really incredible game. I didn’t play play much vanilla SF4 but I really love the options and variety in Super. I’m glad they made a new one.
Noticed that as well, but usually it would be after a big tourney.
…dammit. I CAN’T GET AWAY
If they revamp the online, add one of Psylocke or Strider, and don’t add Phoenix Wright I will probably get this.
I never understood why people want Frank West and Phoenix Wright when there’s characters like Strider and Gambit missing. Phoenix Wright would be so dumb it hurts to even imagine him in the game.
“Add _______ instead of _______. Capcom should add my characters because I’m a petulant brat.”
Considering all the other projects that are currently under production (3SO and SFxT) I highly doubt we would be getting this anytime soon. I know Super only came out a little over a year after Vanilla but I think the gap between MvC3 and the next installment (if their is one) will more than likely be much further away.
