If quality wasn’t a factor we would have played Capcom Fighting Evolution/Jam.
I don’t mean to whine, I just don’t like the concept of someone winning without any technical skill at all.
I wish that it couldn’t me a 100% game changer, like I said earlier, perhaps once a character in X-Factor kills one character, it should end immediately.
Well, fortunately, that doesn’t happen unless you give it away, so you don’t need to whine about it.
yeah this game is way too early to be calling for bans and shit, but what i see of early play i dont like. someone find that anti-phoenix tactic that makes her low-tier now plz lol
There’s already enough tools to ensure that playing Phoenix is risky and kill her off. Justin was blowing up Phoenix plenty of times. The issue is when you put a character with comeback capabilities that no other character has in the back with a character that can kill off 2 characters in the front then there’s no thought or balance anymore. It’s just character select fighting.
I assume you don’t like Wolvie lol. To no surprise, you got a point tho.
If Phoenix dies early and you got Wolvie well you still got a big change with BS X factor.
I haven’t liked Wolverine in this character since the day the game came out. I hate characters that require little thought to play and just win by their hit boxes and easy mode combos. I always hate on whichever character derps around the most in any fighting game and in this game Wolverine is DAT DURP.
I would enjoy this game more without X-factor period IMO. I know it is a cool system and all but I am more about making comebacks on your own.
Yes both characters have X factor but that doesn’t mean it is necessarily balanced because of that.
Well like I always say the main problem is if you take XF out of a game where if you play poorly you lose characters and your odds of winning go to shit…you need something. The reason the average joe shmoe is playing this is basically because of the XF system. Marvel without XF is brutal as fuck. The average guy wouldn’t be playing this game right now without it. They would send hate mail because you wont let them kill one character. XF makes it so your boy down the road can play even he gets his first 2 characters thrashed.
The main problem is that certain characters take a MUCH larger advantage of XF than other characters (Wesker/Wolvie/Sent/Phoenix etc) and things need to be done to change the XF with those specific characters to balance the game.
Yea I just do not like huge comeback mechanics like XF. The Revenge system of SFIV isn’t even close to being this bad lol.
It is like for scrubby comebacks of sorts.
Yeah I’m all fine for comebacks but Wolverine can do like comeSTARTS. LOL. Then you place him with a comeback character that has 2 lives and it’s just…bleh.
Cheap shit is cool but this is beyond cheap. Tokido’s team pretty much exemplifies why something needs to be done about XF. We’re not fighting characters anymore. Now we’re just fighting XF. When you can make teams where the opponent has to fight XF harder than the team it’s just too much.
What if you could attack the opposing player’s meter? Like a snapback command but it affects the meter instead. I’d be willing to trade a meter for a meter if it prevented Dark Phoenix risings. Although potentially this could lead to absolutely screwing the opposing player’s attack combinations. (hyper combo links, dhc, etc.)
That seems unfair, if any character could do it it’d have to be the user uses more meter than he takes. It costs 2 meters and takes away 1.
No I don’t play Phoenix
I can see how it may seem unfair, and I’m not contesting it. But I’m talking still losing your meter even if the hit doesn’t connect, just like snap back. I’m not entirely certain how to implement it, (as a counter, as a knockdown, as a stun?) but I do agree that there has to be a little more give than take in this instance. Like C.Viper gets to blow a meter and get access to EX Attacks, I mean you lose an entire meter regardless but if you can land it during a controlled combo then the risk is pretty low. Just the same, I really don’t know who the heck is tossing out random snap backs; there must be a way to attack the hc meter without it seeming entirely super high-risk. But if it’s trading 2 meters for 1 and it’s treated as a snap back command (direct hit rather than counter, not actually snapping the character back) that’s a lot of risk if you miss. Especially for not actually attacking the life meter directly.
Overall I don’t necessarily mean for this to be the anti-Phoenix strategy of the century but rather as another concept in how you can attack your opponent. Akin to status effects.
No offense, but the latest Mortal Kombat is so scrub friendly I only played it one week. Basically a “Noob” (Saibot / noob) button masher can take you some matches in a set. This would never happens in alot of other fighting game.
It’s a cool game, but yet…
You losing to mashers is more an indication of your quality as a player than the game itself.
if there is an update to the game with more characters, probably going to be out before Asuras Wrath. Been trying to follow this new capcom game since I heard about it like last year. The main character Asura would be awesome in MVC3 or some sort of capcom crossover fighting game.
I want the other guy in the game. And I want him to scream…
“BUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH FINGAH!”
They just need to put strider in. Strider is a must, anybody else is just a nice addition.
Strider Hiryu is a must, let us never stray from this path. Though I’d love some Captain Sword action so I could slice that damn dog out of the sky.
