I do agree, that playing the guessing game is way better then a leaked list. We all remember the leaked list for SSFIV. A good majority of that list was the real deal. Problem with splilling the beans now is…what the hell would people talk about for months to come until it’s release.

Agreed. Which is all the more puzzling to me why some are advocating to have Linn Kurosawa, and Gene from God Hand in. Those are characters from one-shot games, IIRC. I vote for Captain Commando for him essentially being the mascot after Megaman. Jin is just a personal favorite of mine, and let’s be real here, people generally want Strider because he’s a ninja and has a great design, but before MvC, he was a one-shot, obscure character as well. But I seriously believe Strider is in now, due to huge popular demand, and Lupinko’s obvious tweet.
Out of all the Rival Schools characters, Shoma was my fav as well, so if he’s in, then that’s a surprise. Wouldn’t be surprised if his movelist is similar to Ippatsuman.

I’m grasping at straws here, but on the Blue+Green Wizard hint, there’s Deis/Bleu from Breath of Fire. I don’t see any reason to include her yet not someone more popular like Ryu or Nina.
Viewtiful Joe and Amaterasu were from one shot games. I want Gene in because his game kicked ass, the music was better than everything in MvC3 and kicks people in the nuts. Wolvie needs to get nutshotted.
Also…maybe it’ll get people hype, we’ll get Godhand 2 on 1080p with more ass kicking included. Gene is just godlike though.
Carol, I would prefer just to be a rushdown character with a nice beam and beam hyper with a nice dashing level three with a version of Rose’s orbs that deals added damage to the opponent as well as maybe draining there meter very little with every hit.
Blue/green wizard? Heard they were considering him as the villain in Ironman 3…

That’s just not happening. Ms. Marvel is easily more recognizable than Moonstone, she’s the one that Marvel places in the mainstream media first, not Moonstone. Ms. Marvel has her own independent serials, Moonstone doesn’t. Ms. Marvel is a main character in an ongoing animated series, Moonstone isn’t. Ms. Marvel was a playable main character in MUA1 and 2, Moonstone wasn’t.
What I’m saying is when it comes to mainstream appearances Marvel will always put Carol over Karla. It’s just the way it is, accept it.

There’s probably been more that I’ve missed, but I’m not sure how many of those were anything more than musings and speculation.
Of that list I’d think the most likely three were Strider, PW and Frank West, but that’s just me.
Outside of comics, yes, Carol is more recognizable.
Three things though,
a) Moonstone was playable in MUA1.
b) Carol had a series. It was cancelled. It was also Moonstone’s own ongoing during Dark Reign as well so they shared that “honor”. 
c) Shuma, Dormammu and Skrull are in. Moonstone is most recognizable than all 3 of these so that point is moot.
Just say I want Carol more than Karla, and that’s that.

Based on what Chibi has told us, if three of the multitude of candidates are true, then it would have to be logical ones. Batsu, and West are fleshed out or portable and shouldn’t be too hard to “make happen”
I’m also noticing a lot of talk about “popular” characters given spots in the roster. No offense, but I’d be looking out side the box for the final two marvel characters. Mandarin seems out there and linked to IM who has no villain in game yet. I’m really banking on unconventional characters, what with people like Dorm, MODOK, and Task in the game.
The hyper-questionable character mentioned, if not a completely blatant hook, is extremely intriguing.
