im having trouble with a part of the combo after the gustaff fire, when you jump and do the Two medium attacks, and then the hard attack. I am always whiffing the hard attack. no matter what strategy i try to apply to ensure the hit, it always seems random when it lands.
okay i figured out what i was doing wrong. i was getting in too many hits before the j.M j.M j.H. i was repeatedly pressing the button to extend her drill to full hits, and it made my j.H whiff everytime. now i just get the default hits, and the j.H works great.
When I try to do the :a1: cr.:h: xx f.:h: :qcf::h: with Tron mid combo, it seems like sometimes only two of the drones hit and sometimes all three hit. This really screws up my combos because I either don’t pull out the :qcf::h: fast enough or the third drone hits the opponent out of the trapped state. Any help with this?
Call drones before you do cr.:h:, not at the same time. I made the same mistake before, but you want the drones juggling them for a bit after the :f::h: hits them so you have more than enough time to :qcf::h:. It just takes a bit of practice, but once you learn it you’ll never forget it.
I’ve been trying that out, but still can’t get it to work. There doesn’t seem to be enough time for the QCF H to come out because the drones have started going earlier. Is there any sort of cue or something that I should be looking out for?
Also, slightly off topic, but I’ve been trying out this combo as well.
[No Assist, 3 Meter, Corner only, 931,000 damage]j.:h: st.:l: cr. st.:h: :rdp::h: cr. :f: j. j.:h: j.:s: :qcf::l: :dp::atk::atk: st.:h: :dp::atk::atk: st.:h: :qcf: :atk::atk: ( Only does max damage on big characters like Hulk. On smaller characters, do the Beacon Bomb faster so the initial hitbox on King Servbot that pops the opponent into the air will miss. Does less damage this way, but will always hit.)
It seems like the j.S doesn’t come out in time maybe 20% of the time I do it, and the enemy character every once in a while doesn’t land on the 2nd King Servebot.
having issues capturing with H servbot beacon with zero’s ryujin assist. i ve seen it done in a video, but forgot which video, and also you can’t see exactly what tron is doing on the ground because zero’s assist moves the opponent up so high.
When you do the 236, does 6H come out? If so, you are doing the 236:h: too early. You have a lot more time than you think, so do the 236:h: while the person is almost done being hit with Zero’s assist. They should be slightly falling when you catch them with the beacon bomb.
Does mashing the drill increase it’s recovery? Also, does mashing affect blockstun during the recovery? I know the drill is unsafe on block, but if there’s a few frame difference, It could help a little to not mash in clutch situaions on block.
Now THAT’S a good question. Unfortunately I don’t know its. Answer, but I eagerly anticipate the response of. Someone who does. Snap guess: it doesn’t change the moves frame data. Though it changes the length of the move so might mentally add a. Frame or 2.
From what i’ve seen the recovery/blockstun is unchanged during mashed/unmashed versions of Bonne Strike. If your opponent is mashing push block and you mash drill you’ll often end up slightly farther away than a pushblocked unmashed drill.
At first this new team of mine, Tron Sent Haggar, was kind of like a throw-away team to level up my Tron, but I’m realllly likin’ it and could consider it a main in no time if it keeps up its success. Anyway, since I’m taking it much more seriously now, I wanted to ask you guys for any matchup specific advice you may have. Obv I’m not asking ya’ll to write out an entire strategy guide or anything (though if you want to, have at it!), but more like any specific bullet points or do-and-donts againt some of the more common problem characters (an example being my assumption that the usual crossup iad sjH pressure might not be optimal against Ammy since she’s so short, and that more iad jS should be more effective since she’s so wide).
In particular any tips on Tron dealing with Dante, Wesker, Wolverine, and Magneto would be fantastic. If I could go into those matches with a solid gameplan, I’m sure I could figure out the rest in time. I don’t face a lot of Zeros, but he’d probably be pretty good to be prepared for too.
To start the dialog, it seems with Wolve, you’d want to do more drills than usual (along with drones if you got em) to keep the ground space covered with hit box in an attempt to mitigate dash-ins and Berz Slashes. Likewise it gives you a lot of side switches so after he finally gets close, you undo all of his hard work.e a proper assessment
That may or may not be a proper assessment, but I figured I’d try to get the ball rolling. Thanks in advance!
yeah basically tron loses in most matchups unless you are very good with your assists. tron v wesker, dormammu, phoenix etc is practically unwinnable.
i would seriously advise against using drill vs wolvie because if he grabs you it’s OTG slide to xfactor and you’re done. when fighting people like magneto, magneto SHOULD be spamming disrupter and then EM shockwave if you get close. however, just keep empty dashing and airdashing in while blocking between disruptors til you can mount an offense. do not try to do jump in j.C or crossup j.C because all magneto needs to do if he sees you jump is dash under s.S and you’re dead. instead, pressure him into backdashing or mistiming an attack. j.C and j.S punishes backdash so hard, thats basically the only time i get hits off with tron… just make sure they count when you do hit.
Yeah I am DEF counting on assists in these scenarios. I’ve played enough anchor/solo tron to know she’s toast in most 1on1s. But the goal is, with drones and lariats, to be. Able to overcome the typical disadvantages. My goal at the moment when playing is basically to find ways tosafely call either assist. If I can’t use my moves in such a way that I can put drones on the screen without sentinel getting blown up, I figure my mixup game can take it from there. If they block, run around till I can try again. And yeah, like you said, when I do finally get that hit, I want to make sure their character dies, or something close to it.
Oh right, I forgot you have haggar. Basically, against teleporters like Dante and Wesker, try to call Haggar to beat their teleport mixups. I wouldn’t do it so much on people who are slower to get in like Mags or Dorm or whatever. Against Wolverine, Haggar beats him if they try to dive kick or berserker slash. Good wolverines will respect haggar and go low and confirm with c.L, so try to stay grounded and blocking low against them. If you see a dive kick or a berserker slash, call haggar. OTG to XFC and seriously kill wolverine or wesker if you get a chance. I show my combo for that in the video in my sig.
Calling Sentinel at the right time is something you’ll have to work on to perfect with Tron, I can’t really offer any advice about that other than try to call him off screen and then do your moves to cover sent in such a way that when your moves are done covering sent, the drones will cover you, then you cna start mixups to mount an offense…
