LL if you want to get better at drawing and painting do yourself a favor and read “drawing on the right side of the brain” by betty edwards. Also seriously draw every day, from life. The reason i said you need to learn these things like light and shade isn’t to be “artsy” and if any of you think that thats what i’m saying then you clearly don’t understand.
It’s like someone picking up a controller to play SF…if they don’t know how to do basic moves then they’re prob not ever going to be an advanced player. Sure they might have fun, and maybe thats all that matters, but if they do want to get serious they would have to practice and learn basics.
I assume it’s the same with LL. I figured he wanted to grow as an artist and thats why he posed his stuff here. Maye you all didn’t feel there was an ego to him, but it seemed it to me.
By saying you’re not interested in learning basics and basically wanting to just attack me, it totally takes away from the whole point of the thread. If you just want to feel good about yourselves to bash on me…go nuts. It’s not going to help him as an artist, or affect me as one.

you asked how to paint invisible like hours ago…you want a legit answer? A background of any type would help…you can give the illusion of transparency.
also if you liked the poster with the pose she was in you could have still cropped in the same area (thigh) but moved the image to be centered. and the thighs start the transparency. it would center the image and prob look better.
As to the no face…i’m sorry. I still don’t like it. If you do…cool. But i’m telling you in my opinion it seems weird that her hair and uniform wouldn’t also be invisible…and it looks unfinished. I know you’re saying that it was your intent, but i’m just being honest…it looks like its blocked in wating for the next pass being the face.

I can try acrylics…I’m not that good with them. I did these. The halo one last years and the face one like 2 months ago i think.
and to prove i can take what i tell you to…i’ll say i HATE the face one because of the crop at the bottom. I think the chin fucks up the image being right at the bottom like that…the same argument i had about sue storms legs in your first one.

I like your work, and I think we all can learn a thing or two from you. But from the attitude you had going on, it looked like you were the one shitting on other people here.
I understand that you are trying to uplift LL, but bashing where it isn’t needed isn’t going to help.
From what I saw, LL had no ego about his drawings. We all knew that he was no elite pro. He was only posting his shit.
Fine Art is a form of expression, yes, but it’s your attitude that can make newbies shy away from even attempting it. Believe it or not, there are good artists out there who had been sketching every now and then just for the love of doing it, way before it had transformed into something as SERIOUS as many see it now.
